There once was a South African guy on youtube who would roam Africa looking for poisonous snakes to photograph. In one of his videos he was bitten and you could see him recoil and say “guys,I’ve been bitten”. IIRC his name was Steve Austin.
88 viles, wow!
I caught several rattlesnakes in southern New Mexico when I was young and feeling immortal. I was never bitten but as I have gotten wiser, I learned that with poisonous snakes it’s usually just a matter of time.
My first thought was, “Jesus.”
Not in a profain way...in the way of answering the question.
The number one point was spot on: God is good.
Amen!
This guy’s not related to Timothy Treadwell is he?
I remember as a kid in the 1950s, Marlon Perkins was then director of the St Louis zoo and had a live show on TV. He once was going to demonstrate how to milk a rattlesnake but instead showed the viewing audience first aid for a rattlesnake bite.
Still here. For a reason. I hope he figures it out.
A true publicity seeking dumba@@. Back when we used to carry Wyeth antivenin kits with distilled water vials and powdered antivenin for rattlesnake bites- after we used the proper suction devices to suck out as much toxin as we could immediately after the bite. Then inject antivenin and go to the ER. Happened a couple of times- and once with a cottonmouth (which has toxin that breaks down protein tissue and the wound necroses— very dangerous, far more than any rattlesnake and just under the greater danger of say a King Cobra. One of which nearly killed a long time friend who has passed away- and ran a major business supply venom to the CDC and WHO in the day).
