Donald Trump's incoming national security advisor Mike Waltz suggested during an interview on ABC's "This Week" that if Ukraine expects "the entire world to be all-in" on supporting them, they should lower their draft age from 26 to 18.
MIKE WALTZ: I will say, the other thing that we're going to need to see is really stabilizing things on the battlefield. And one of the things that we'll be asking of the Ukrainians is they have real manpower issues. Their draft age right now is 26 years old, not 18.
I don't think a lot of people realize that they could generate hundreds of thousands of new soldiers. So when we hear about morale problems, when we hear about issues on the frontline, look, if the Ukrainians have asked the entire world to be all in for democracy, we need them to be all in for democracy. And they certainly have fought bravely. They certainly have taken a very noble and tough stand. But we need to see those manpower shortages addressed. This isn't just about munitions, ammunition, or writing more checks. It's about seeing the frontlines stabilized, so that we can enter into some type of deal.

[Ukraine] should draft 18 year olds.”

I agree.
When Trump sets a cease-fire, what’s to prevent Russia from indefinitely building reserves all along Ukraine’s border?
Ukraine needs to redouble its line of defenders.
They aren’t drafted to fight and be killed on the front lines.
they should be for equality purposes...
Do you really want to replace male soldiers and marines with girls and the fate of our nation depend on that?
i think Zelenskyy will be hard pressed to find any 18 years olds, myself.
negative...
just exposing freepers hypocrisy...
Leader after leader in Europe that supported this failed proxy war has been voted out of office.
Trump knows there is no national interest in Ukraine and the war is solely being fought so our elite can make $$$. And, there is no chance he is going to all his domestic agenda to be derailed by it.
And, when this is over and Russia keeps every inch of the territory they possess, I will do the equivalent of rub your face between a pair of Biden's adult diapers.
You are a propagandist, sociopath and war pig.
They will also generate thousands of draft dodgers.
That comment will be remembered.
When he ends this and Russia keeps every bit of the territory it has gained, I don't want to see you whine about it.
Some secondary information, which is not mere assertion.

They should activate Offensive v.7
The other 6 didn’t work.
Why not try v.7
“I agree they should draft 18 year olds.”
Fight to the last Ukie Male.
Just do it without U.S. Taypayer Money

What I’m looking at is the Ukrainian flag and the word “Democrat”, spelled with a commie hammer and sickle, in your tagline.

Are you aware that FR is an American Conservative site?
I don’t give a frigg what you don’t want to hear.
I support Trump.
But as usual you obnoxiously tell others what’s going to happen.
Thank for the tip Nostradomus.
Here are logical alternatives, which were all there and expressed before the start of or at the beginning of the hot war.
1) Pro-Ukraine as well as pro-Zelensky. coupled to send money and materiel "as long as it takes."The avid pro-Zelensky voices, even to today, dismiss our national debt as a concern, dismiss lives lost and destruction because all favors 'whatever it takes" to topple Russia. In the case of more than one FR member, this included nuclear war. (Citation upon request.)2) Pro-Ukraine but anti-Zelensky, meaning other Ukrainian voices were valid even if opposed to Zelenksy.
3) Pro-Putin, though this stance is hardly documentable among FR threads.
4) Anti-war, meaning specifically this war. "Not my circus. Not my clowns."
5) Pragmatically concerned about the expenditure of money and materiel in a losing enterprise, rather like the recent Afghanistan debacle.
Any who'd lean towards any other view than rubber-stamping #1 have been accused of being "Putin stoogers" and similar inane variants. Of course, rancor has ensured.
Your "Just do it without [ U.S. ] Taypayer Money" is becoming a almost dominant voice in electorates here as in Europe, and our various "elite" are displeased with this turn of political events.
Given that we have learned of late that the Biden administration has paid millions for influencers, and given that Butler's argument is correct that "war is a racket," one wonders how long the current racket will continue. Not long is a good guess.
Best wishes.

You don’t even know Russia is not communist anymore.
If they had some younger guys in there they might have won by now.
