The world must return to a policy of "maximum pressure" against Iran to turn it into a more democratic country, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's incoming Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg told an Iranian opposition event in Paris on Saturday.
Trump has vowed to return to the policy he pursued in his previous term that sought to wreck Iran's economy to force the country to negotiate a deal on its nuclear programme, ballistic missile programme and regional activities.
"These pressures are not just kinetic, just not military force, but they must be economic and diplomatic as well", Retired Lieutenant-General Kellogg, who is set to serve as Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, told the audience at Paris-based Iranian opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
He said there was an opportunity "to change Iran for the better" but that this opportunity would not last forever.
"We must exploit the weakness we now see. The hope is there, so must too be the action."

Kellogg postponed a trip to European capitals earlier this month until after Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.
It was unclear whether he would use his trip top Paris to meet French officials to discuss Ukraine. The French presidency, foreign ministry, Trump's transition team did not immediately respond for comment.

Ukraine envoy talking about Iran?
Tired of Ukraine? Looking for a new job already?
Is any Iranian’s house going to shrink because of sanctions?
Are Iran’s sheep going to roll over dead?
Are moths going to eat all their clothes?
Is their Internet going to stop working?
Are they going to run out of devices to surf the Internet? I own about seven Internet surfing devices.
Most of the world doesn’t fill up an SUV with Chinese goodies come weekends.
Not exactly a prowar cheer leader. His description of people being torn apart by machine gun fire are chilling.
Iran has about 91 million people.
That’s more people than the UK, France or Germany.
Iran can support a big and diverse economy.
He’s a sterling example of the Peter principle.
Great book. I read it in high school, many years ago.
Send your complaints to President Trump, but as far as military history he first served with the 101st in Vietnam and led a Recon unit, he then returned to Vietnam as a green beret and served time with the New Zealand SAS, and his post Vietnam record during war is impressive as well.
“He was commissioned into the United States Army in 1967. After the officer basic course at Ft. Benning, he completed airborne training and Ranger School. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne, and within days deployed to Vietnam. There he served first as a recon platoon leader before and during Tet, under the command of then-LTC David E. Grange, Jr. (the elder). During that time, he fought in two major engagements, one against the NVA Dong Nai Regiment in War Zone D, and then during Tet at Bien Hoa Air Base. He lost one third of his platoon, including all of his squad leaders. After his six-month rotation, he served for several months as aide-de-camp to MG Olinto Barsanti, commander of the 101st Airborne. After Barsanti left Vietnam, Kellogg ended his first tour as a pathfinder, moving people and materiel into Hue to dislodge the NVA and VC from the citadel. On his second tour, he served with as a Special Forces officer working with the New Zealand Special Air Services (SAS).” “during his time in Vietnam that Kellogg earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star with “V” Device, and Air Medal with “V” Device.”
Kellogg commanded 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment
Kellogg later commanded 3rd Brigade, 7th Infantry Division during Operation Just Cause.
During the 1990–1991 Gulf War, Kellogg served in the 82nd Airborne Division, first as chief of staff and then as assistant commander. Kellogg subsequently served as the Commander of Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) and then took command of the 82nd Airborne Division in 1996.
September 11, 2001. Following the crash of American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon, Kellogg assumed responsibility of the alternate command post at Raven Rock Mountain Complex
Say no to NATO warriors.
It seems vain for you to say you need to fix what you see as incompetence in Trump, but post 27 showed how indifferent you are to truth.
Sorry, no new wars and no NATO warriors. If you want to fight in a war, why not offer your services to The Zelensky? He’s down to women and children.
Another nonsensical post, as weird as your post 2.
How exactly can you focus on new wars with LA burning? Isn’t it time to put Americans First?
Iran natural gas reserves 32 trillion cubic meters. #2 in the world.
They share the primary gas field with Qatar, listed with 24 trillion cubic meters.
Russia 38 trillion cubic meters. #1.
US about 16 trillion cubic meters, producing 1.1 trillion cubic meters per year, and with a projected double on electricity consumption by 2030.
Global consumption about 4 trillion cubic meters per year.
Think very carefully about all of that.
Iran is a craphole whose people earn an average monthly salary of $200 a month.
I had never taken the time to look for Iran grocery store vids. Voila.

This is one major reason Putin bailed on Assad and Syria.
The Russians knew they were going to have separate from Iran as part of the Ukraine agreement to get the best deal and if Russia does that, Syria also loses the Iranian support propping up Assads regime
So Assad was a dead duck and Russia cut it's losses in Syria and let Turkey take over in Syria on the cheap while Biden was still in office to best screw the US
The real question is why Trump’s envoy to Ukraine meeting with Iranian opposition groups in Paris in the first place. Did he get lost on the way to Kiev? 🤔
