Meta and Amazon are axing their diversity programmes, joining firms across corporate America that are rolling back hiring and training initiatives criticised by conservatives, citing legal and political risks.
The move comes just days after Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said it was ending a fact-checking programme criticised by President-elect Donald Trump and Republicans.
In a memo to staff about its decision, which affects, hiring, supplier and training efforts, Meta cited a "shifting legal and policy landscape".
Walmart and McDonalds are among the other companies to have made similar decisions regarding diversity efforts since Trump won re-election.

However (and the reason im posting this in chat) Zuckerberg is now saying he was told by the Administration to take down anti-Vax posts and groups or face the consequences despite admitting he knew the risks of mRNA technology.
I'm not buying this apology tour.
Trump won't hold a grudge so lucky for them but Freepers won't forget, right?
McDonald’s the other day axed their dei nonsense. That’s pretty much one of the signs of the apocalypse. When McDonald’s ends the woke, that’s when you know woke is broke and up in smoke.
100%
I wonder how much of this relates the the Supreme Court case that found Harvard and (I think it was) UNC’s affirmative action programs illegal.
The obvious precedent is that discrimination in favor of a member of a class that has been historically discriminated against is still discrimination; and now that the big sponsor of reverse racism (the federal government) will no longer fight for it, the greater risk is no longer failing to meet diversity goals, but instead being found guilty of discrimination.
Yeah, but will all of their ads still sound like they were scripted by elderly white men whose exposure to rap began and ended with Blondie’s Rapture?
“Yo dog, check this my homeys just unpopped! Mickey D’s eggs are dope! They are fried totally fresh! The sizzle is fo shizzle!”
Keep fighting this more than 2 generations of government ordered racial and sexual discrimination until high standards and equal opportunity replace it in hiring.
I think that not having to worry about the Leftist government/courts coming down on them for rejecting this nonsense is playing a part. Sanity returns with President Trump in the WH.
I dont believe any of them .
Did anyone get fired .
No .
These white male hating Diversity hires are still in HR and scrubbing resumes .
MAGA-washing their companies.
Yes & the point i wanted to make we should have long memories
Vote with your wallet as always
Mcdonald’s customer base is black and most of their workers, as far as I see are black so they cater to the blackness. I’m just shocked that they are dropping dei. when Disney drops it, that’s when you know that nonsense is dead.
>> Mcdonald’s customer base is black and most of their workers, as far as I see are black <<
That’s just absolutely ridiculous. I’ve lived in several East-Coast cities and I’ve never seen a Black worker at McDonald’s in my life, except for Caribbean Hispanics. In the East, McDonald’s is 100% Hispanic, probably mostly illegal immigrant. You’ll see them side-by-side Black-dominated Burger Kings.
HOLD ON: I looked up their demographics online. This is tricky, because the corporate workforce is way whiter (62%) than the franchisee workforce (31%), and I’m not sure how the franchisee workforce is estimated... but I think that’s the relevant one.
It’s 34% Hispanic, 31% White, 19% Black, 8% Asian (!), and 7% multi-racial.
What’s funny about these “Yo, homey” ads is that I mostly encounter them on “Dad rock” radio. I’m gonna not try to find statistics for how many black people listen to Dad rock radio, and instead just refer you to the thousands of videos with titles like “[Black guy] listens to [Pink Floyd, etc.] for the first time.”
My guess is the deep south and urban midwest have all the Black McDonald’s workers, and that what I see in the northeast is that they become exclusively Hispanic because they become Spanish-language shops, where all the mid-level managers are Spanish. The workers all seem to know about a dozen English words (Hamburger, fries, soda, etc.) but not any others like “tomato,” “jam,” “honey,” etc.
I wouldn’t say it’s absolutely ridiculous, their ads are targeted at their biggest audience, the black folk. The commercials are literally little rap videos.
The real reason all these corporations are changing at the same time is because “The legal landscape is changing”.
Lots of lawsuits are coming out from victims of DEI nonsense, and the odds of big judgements has gone way up.
So they are now running scared
I think America has had enough diversity. The LA fires are all the proof we need. Too much “diversity” is a scorched earth, suicide policy.
I’m not that optimistic. When the DEI departments and offices at the universities are truly history, THEN I’ll get a little optimistic. Then I’ll believe woke is up in smoke.
Don’t speak for other people.
I just want the country to get moving forward from here.
DEI-based hiring seems to serve as some kind of corporate mirror for the image-obsessed as if mere appearances mean everything.
Oh come on, 11% of the US public is not their biggest audience. Their real audience is young people, desperate for social credit. Their ads are probably deliberately square so they seem “safe black,” seeming to target blacks without actually seeming to be run by “scary blacks.”
It’s like apartment websites. The people shown are always young, attractive black women with very light features, straighened hair, and some visual shorthand for “intellectual,” or “refined,” like a wine glass, a book, or glasses. IOW, people who make white people they’d gain social credit if they could befriend, but not someone who seems like they’d lower the real-estate value because social-credit-hungry white people actually ARE very racist.
