The American Indian vote was Democrat supporting in the last century, with counties in eastern Oklahoma with 10% or more native population responsible for putting these counties into the Democratic column. That has changed in this century; in 2024, every single county in the Sooner State was carried by Trump. Cherokee County, where American Indians represent 32% of the population, was won by Trump by a 2:1 margin. At least in Oklahoma, this vote has largely shifted to the GOP.
