I have listened to LA Fire (via Broadcastify) throughout the last 24 hours (when awake). There have been a lot of smart communications, showing that they are doing what they can, with what they have.
There are several volunteers - operators of heavy equipment - who have pitched in, to help establish fire breaks. And when the volunteers have stepped forward, LA Fire has replied: “ABSOLUTELY”
On the other hand, there have been the occasional female voice over the radio, that makes me nervous.
In general, LA Fire (combined forces) are working on developing major fire breaks:
- Santa Monica Mountains area
- Los Angeles National Forest area
- Verdugo Mountains area
by using heavy equipment and air-drops of retardant.
Some tele-communications (commercial) are assisting with general observe-and-report.
Some volunteers are supplying food and water to anybody working the problem.
I watched some California cameras overnight, and the projection of major, large, flaming pieces of material - from some fire areas, was a bit stunning to see.
For example, a flaming tree trunk portion or major branch, flew at least 400 yards, up, and over, a ridge line, as if launched by a catapult.
Anyway, there has been pretty good radio discipline.

Thank you for that link list!
Should be building fire breaks and fire roads during the non-fire times. Disgusting dei sellouts and posers. Justice cannot come soon enough to them.
Turns out, that:
Maps and Camera data are NOT being updated since before 7:00 PM PST 01/09/2025
Good reference list for LA area scanners and web cams. Thans.
