Kristin, Kristina, and Kristine are not all versions of “Kirsten.”

It appears Greenfield is dyslexic. Not that it matters for the thesis of his article.

Yes, they are. All are derived from the Latin “Christina” - meaning “Christian”. Kirsten is the Scandinavian version.

Note the use of quotation marks, a grammatical convention used when the validity of a word is in doubt.
