Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his generals have an artful knack for keeping the Russian military bear off-balance. On Sunday, they renewed their offensive in the Russian Kursk Oblast, once again catching the Russian high command, Kremlin, and many pundits by surprise.
Reports of a demoralized Ukrainian army fighting to retain terrain captured during the August Kursk offensive — of which at least 40 percent has been lost — have circulated among western media and Russian milbloggers since November.
So too reports that Ukraine’s 155th Mechanized Brigade — trained and equipped by France — was under-resourced in “first person view drones or sufficient[ly] trained pilots.” And that 50 soldiers had deserted the unit while training in France and another that 1,700 soldiers refused orders to transfer to the unit.
Nonetheless, as Gen. George Patton once said, “When in doubt, attack!” And that is exactly what Ukraine did, along three fronts — southern Berdin, central Russkoye Porechnoye and central Novosotnitsky.
Ukraine is using British supplied Challenger 2 tanks and extensive electronic warfare operations to blind Russian drones, allowing sappers to open lanes in minefields to facilitate their advance. The success or failure of the renewed offensive remains to be determined, but one thing is certain — it got the Kremlin’s attention.

marcusmaximus has been telling us for years that Ukraine is winning. Why haven’t they won?
Is it just a grift by Zelenshyyyyyto bleed the West dry?
Kursk invasion is going backwards. Go look at the battle maps, people. Russia clobbered the last offensive attempt, they knew ahead of time what was planned, Ukes lost a lot of armor and about 300 soldiers. Russia is on the offensive and taking back villages in the area. Some Ukrainian troops are in danger of encirclement.
ZEEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!(((PING!)))
Toretsk Completely Collapsed l Russia Captures 95 % Of Toretsk
The though that the Ukrainian occupation of the 200 or so sq miles of strategically unimportant Russian territory they have seized near Kursk is going to give them leverage in armistice negotiations is absurd.
Zelensky - "if you don't give into our demands we will not withdraw from Kursk"
Putin - " No problem, just leave them there and we will take care of them after the agreement is finished"
At the end of the day, the Ukraine will be begging Putin to allow the cut off and surrounded Ukrainian troops occupying Russia to leave with their lives instead of being destroyed in detail to the last man.
To think otherwise is delusional in the extreme.

How could he possibly be telling you that Ukraine was winning for years?
I know for a fact that Ukraine was completely conquered several years ago after its army was totally obliterated. I know that because the Putin lovers repeatedly said that Ukraine was going to fall in 4 weeks. That was long ago.
I don’t understand how this military that was literally obliterated 2 or 3 years ago is somehow in Russia and launching offensives there.
It must be that the arrogant individuals who screamed at everyone that Ukraine would be defeated in 4 weeks were in fact morons.
Yeah everything Ukraine does is idiotic it doesn’t make a bit of sense and they will all be surrounded and killed to the last man in the next few weeks.
But somehow years later idiotic Putin has wrecked his own country as well as Ukraine and still cannot defeat this relatively tiny country.
Chasiv Yar in 3 days!
Russia will fight to the last North Korean/convict/child/old lady.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Who’s comic act included him playing a piano with his penis is not the military genius the media write of, maybe a few of his Generals. But I suspect it’s the US military wargaming the process….
Chasiv Yar has fallen.
Yep, the State Department spammers on FR have got orders to promote The New Narrative.
