Specifically white folks.
The real threat is thermonuclear war. It is amazing that none of these super bombs have used in combat. If Civilization is to survive it must become multi planet, as Elon Musk dreams it becoming. As automation becomes more advanced factories making things off Earth promises a revolution in production that will dwarf that of the Industrial Revolution. Some people , no doubt , will follow the money.
If every man, woman and child on the planet lived in the state of Texas, Texas’ population density still would be lower than any of the 50 most densely populated cities.
I believe you are incorrect about their intentions and desire to reduce the population.
If I recall correctly, the population...world population...number of people they want is half a billion people.
So close to 8 billion people have to die...buy why would they want that?
All the answers make them seem crazed or ignorant. Remember WHO THEY ARE...and what they think of themselves.
They want to reduce the population because they feel they can Absolutely Control that many people, if they can filter out the people who would cause them problems at any population level.
They believe technology will allow them to completely dominate and rule half a billion people. So they want the rest to completely go away.
7.7 billion people, in their opinions, need to die for that to happen.
.
Thanks
When I was born the population of America was less than half of what it is today. Put another way, the population of the country has more than doubled in my lifetime.
We have seen the encroachment of megalopolis from Boston to Richmond and along that corridor we sadly see a speckling of very unattractive cities that are pits of crime and human degradation.
I have chosen to live my life in his rural an atmosphere as I can find and afford. In this sense I am a Jeffersonian, in many respects my politics aligned with Thomas Jefferson, those politics, that is, that don't align with Alexander Hamilton's, Jefferson's bitter enemy.
So I'm a hypocrite, I want to live like a Jeffersonian plantation owner but have all the benefits of Cosco, Walmart and modern hospitals. I want the benefits of nearby and accessible modern population centers without the cost.
Perhaps I will have my way as technology progresses. Meanwhile, let me fret about the degraded state of our cities and the choked condition of our highways.
If they want to reduce population I know where they can start!

This is good but painful reading. I suppose it’s like taking castor oil (I never did) or MCT oil (not so bad).
“From the time of Charles Darwin all the way to today, we have been relentlessly warned about what would happen if something was not done to reduce population growth.”
It goes back further, to Thomas Malthus. He published an Essay on the Principle of Population in 1798, eleven years before Darwin was born. He predicted mass starvation in England in 30 years. When that did not happen, he had the good sense and character to admit he was wrong.
One problem I think is that Malthusian economics (biology I think) is often taught but the teaching of a counter-argument is less common. Still, Malthusianism has been criticized. Per Wikipedia: “Malthus’s failure to predict the Industrial Revolution was a frequent criticism of his theories.” The “Industrial Revolution” is part of a larger pattern of human progress, that has not stopped.
Marx and Engels predicted that workers would become poorer and poorer due to capitalism. Their young protege, Eduard Bernstein, became old, looked around, and saw that workers had become richer. Julian Simon is an economist who looked at history and saw increasing prosperity. So far, the facts have proven less influential than dystopian theory.
Marian Tupy and Gale Pooley wrote Superabundance: The Story of Population Growth, Innovation, and Human Flourishing on an Infinitely Bountiful Planet:

Tupy did a 5 minute video for PragerU which is very good:

Their website has a lot of content:

I also ran across an interview of Marian Tupy by Vivek:

Thanks for the warning.
I’m sure others could not believe that anyone would act on the theories. That’s the way it is though. Crazy theories just might beget crazy actions.
23. Democrat strategist Steven Rattner: “WE need death panels. Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.”
Maybe Medicare was not such a good idea in the first place.
This reminds me of a coworker who argued that illegal immigrants could save social security. I told him that perhaps social security was a poorly designed program that should never have been started.
To save bad programs, we must have death panels and end our national sovereignty? Maybe it’s time to admit that these were bad programs.
