...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 AM EST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 5 and 9 inches, with amounts of 10 to 12 inches possible in isolated spots if heavy banding sets up in this area. Ice accumulations of a trace possible.
* WHERE...Washington DC, central Maryland, and northern Virginia.
* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 1 AM EST Tuesday. Highest snowfall rates occur late tonight into early Monday morning. Snow may mix with sleet and perhaps some freezing rain Monday morning into the afternoon, especially right along the Interstate 66 corridor. A lull in precipitation will occur sometime during the afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A second round of heavy snow is possible Monday evening before precipitation ends.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Wait...I’m sure that we were told 10 years or so ago that children in D.C. would never see snow again. This must be a Democrat “cheap fake” to distract from the electoral count. Surely there is no real snow problem in D.C.

I’m hearing lots of chatter about stuff coming our way in the next month, most significantly is a coordinated multi city Islamist killing spree patterned after the Hamas Oct 7 massacre. If it happens, my guess is it will most likely happen in the liberal blue cities but everyone needs to keep their heads on a swivel and watch their six when they are out and about and carry where you are permitted.
I flew in and out of National (now Reagan) myself with my coworkers. Great treatment because they think you’re a somebody bureaucrat. It was that way for years. Not so sure, now?

Another true story. My boss and I were on the Tuesday morning red eye to National for another in and out meeting.
It was so foggy when we went into final approach you literally could not see 12 inches out of the window. I hate flying anyway but my boss was a former cobra pilot in Viet Nam. Traffic is stacked up and they have us circling for about a half hour. Then we get the OK for final approach. I’m having a silent heart attack and my boss is telling me don’t worry about it everything is fine. A couple of minutes later when we should be just about to touch down the pilot guns it and we’re going back up.
The pilot comes on at some point and says he didn’t like the look of that approach so were going around and come in on a different runway. Finally we get on the ground the second go around. What a nightmare! 😆
Or it is just the Good Lord’s way of keeping the liberal lunatics from causing trouble.
They are already getting Thursday the 9th off for Carter’s passing. And next Monday is MLK Day another federal holiday. It’s not bad work if you can get it!
Going into Cleveland’s Burke Lakefront, You are on final, you can see the faces on the people in the high-rise office buildings. I normally don’t look left to right on an ILS approach, but I was shocked at how close the approach puts to to high-rise buildings! They were just building the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame at the time. We had to meet with the Kirby Vaccum Cleaner engineers to fix a component problem with a part we made for them for builds in Andrews Texas.

They certify nothing. The Electors of each State have already been certified by each States Legislature. This is a formality. Maybe the wrong ones who want to f up the proceedings won’t be able to make it— think of that. Either way the sealed State Ballot Boxes are already at the Capitol and under sealed Guard. There are fixed procedures already in place. Sergeant at Arms in charge.
I realize that public certification of the Electoral count is only a formality and it doesn’t affect the fact that Trump is President-elect and will be inaugurated on January 20th. But, I wanted to see the formalities live. We already have Harris supporters insistent that she has a plan to stop Trump and she will be President come 1/20. We don’t need anything to add fuel to their fire.
