Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was elected Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress after two GOP holdouts decided to change their votes before the second round of voting was set to begin.

Reps. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Keith Self (R-Texas) changed their votes after having initially voted for other candidates, leaving the Louisiana rep two votes short of clinching the speakership.

If you truly trust Trump as you state, then you would trust he already knows the things that are blatantly clear and true about Johnson.

It just that President Trump is not a Zero-Sum loser like alot of chest-thumping "conservatives" here on FreeRepublic.

He knows how to negotiate and he knows he is not going to get everything that he wants all the time, especially with an almost evenly divided House, and a House and Senate with WAY TOO MANY Globalists, and GOP-E members.

What we have hear is a conservative cult. No reasonable person would argue that were valid arguments for and against putting Johnson back in charge. His history as house leader is really bad.

Bullcrap, Massie riles the right people up and proponent of limited government in a sea of globalists stooges, many from his own Party.

I guess you love debt spending since you are besmirching a Rep who actually is trying to do something. Massie needs support, not condemnation, certainly not getting it from fellow Repubs which says a lot about this two Party crapfest making awful decisions.

Massie was totally right to attempt the put some backbone into Johnson the squish.

Without question, however, in life, timing is everything.

As you know, the failure of Johnson to be elected Speaker put the Certification of President Trump in perceived jeopardy. Now, I grant you, and whitney69 points out here, that this perception is quite flawed, yet you can count on the Leftists to throw every conceivable obstacle in front of PDJT. (I also point out a solution here.)

Still, lawsuits would likely slow things down, and cement the concept that Trump was in some way illegitimate. I don't want Trump to be distracted by that sort of bs, nor do I want him to have even one single stolen day.

So, this particular instance was all about timing. Now that Johnson is past this hurdle, Massie may proceed to hold Johnson accountable and I will applaud him wildly for it.

Yet, I'm still unhappy with Massie's timing, and what I perceive is grandstanding meant for his short term gain. For that, I want him to have some reprecussions.

I’m finding a lot of people around here have either straight lost their minds or the board as a whole is devolving to become DU esque. Classic FR critical thinking, objectivity and discussions are now typical reddit style disasters with name calling, swearing and everyone is a putinista or ukrainebot, ect. I made an observation that DJT had the debt increase 5trillion as 45, and that he didn’t try to stop it beyond once or twice and some CReeper around here starting accusing me of wanting Joe as President or some nonsense.
