Bob Dylan with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Al Kooper at the Newport Folk Festival 25/07/1965
This was the second of three songs in the famous 'Dylan goes electric' controversy at Newport, played right after 'Maggie's Farm', and before 'Phantom Engineer'. He then left the stage and came back to play two more songs on an acoustic guitar.

Good stuff!
In the film ‘A Complete Unknown’, vintage equipment from the era was used when possible. That same model microphone that you see Dylan using in this 1965 Newport clip was present in several scenes, and vintage mics were used in recording the music for the film.
Great song writer and good folk musician who played a huge role in rock history - I just cannot stand his voice... especially live.
That clip - quite literally - set off my tinnitus.
Best movie I have seen in many years.
There’s an interesting story about the Fender guitar used, he left it on a plane and the charter pilot who tried very hard to get it back to him with multiple letters to hus mgmt, record execs etc... (all documented btw) and they never responded. Years and years later his daughter claimed to have the guitar & auctioned it after a professional authentication by expert analysis of a front row close up photograph of that guitar being played at Newport and matching the Rosewood grain pattern on the fretboard of that guitar and IIRC she got big money for that guitar.

This was done right after the election and Bill Murray appears quite satisfied within the results.

Edie S. RIP
Oh gosh! I was there for that!!! Saw a lot of the greats that time.
Most of which you could sit in a circle with.
Some of Dylan’s stuff is okay, as long as it was played by the Dead. Dylan is horrendous in concert.

How about The Byrds ?
