Public nuisance laws are more than adequate to deal with ol’ Billy Bob setting up a shade tree repair and junkyard in his side yard.

“Covid” gave governments big balls.
I’m sympathetic. We’ve got more than one lot not far from us filled with old log trucks and junkers. It’s a residential area. It is not licensed for commercial vehicle operations or repair, yet the owners do that. It’s a real blight on the town.
This law is obviously not aimed at the homeowner changing his own oil. That is hyperbolic in the extreme.

....Helps save your neighbors on Property Taxes.
Some places in the US charge, or want to charge, citizens for collecting rain water.
Same ridiculous mindset.
Not so much in California.
Peaky Blinders wouldn’t put up with it.
They can’t do that, that’s just plan stupid.
There are an awful lot of people who resent other peoples’
freedom.
Some of them are right here.
I'm thinking that those who are allowed to run for office just may be tightly controlled.
Party leaders decide who gets supported and who don't. If your not in the click, too bad for you and all those people who live in such a $--thole...
My HOA rules say that you are not allowed to do vehicle repairs in your driveway or essentially in the front of your house. You could do this in your garage or on the side of your house but must be behind a gate (everybody is supposed to have a fenced backyard). You cannot park your vehicle in the street longer than a day - EM services cannot get through (the entire City is no street parking during the winter for snow removal). You cannot park an RV in the front of your home except for a few days (visitor) - it must be in a side yard with a gravel or concrete pad. These rules help to keep our little hamlet from looking like a junkyard - and help keep the home values up.
Case in point - some folks built a very nice home on the street behind our hood - 3 acre ag lot - that has no HOA. They had to move for family reasons and had a hard time selling (sold well below market) as the guy next door owned side-dump trucks and all the crap that one might imagine would go along with all that.
I’m not necessarily a fan of HOA’s - some just get too extreme like one nearby that came up with a new rule that say’s you cannot park a truck (think F150 or Ranger) in your driveway - but I do like a nice clean neighborhood.

The licensed dealers near me do NOT have mechanics who know how to work on my vehicles....
NO place to “PLUG IN THE COMPUTER” & tell them what is wrong.
The populace voted them in? They deserve everything they get - and don’t get.
