It may be far down the list of bad decisions he made, but it cemented my decision to vote for Reagan. I knew people in Europe who were upset that Carter publically announced his decision and then invited other nations to join his boycott without even discussing it with other nations first.
Which is why I was surprised Merkel never got any pullback for her decision to allow an unknown number of refugees into Germany, a Schengen nation.
