A state court judge in southeast Georgia died by apparent suicide early Tuesday while sitting on the bench in his courtroom, authorities confirmed.
Effingham County State Court Judge Stephen Yekel, 74, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, a spokesperson for the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office said. He said deputies found Yekel dead inside the courthouse around 10 a.m.

I get that they are trying to avoid victim blaming, but suicide is something the victim does, not something that happens to them.
Unless you live in Arkansas or if you’re name is Jeffrey Epstein.
Nothing in the article indicates scandal. He had pressures. Brother you could have just retired and gone fishing.
Regular operations? Courts like long lines at their cash registers.
At least he was honorable enough to just kill himself and not shooting up a place and then killing himself.

Interesting how we notice when a corrupt judge targets us. But not so much a inner city kid who protests the city hall corruption.
When I was in my twenties judges would continue a case because they were waiting for Mr Green or his young open-minded, open legged assistant. 60 years later its the same. Power corrupts.
Don’t feed the monster if you don’t want it to grow.
He looks like Johnny Paycheck/George W. Bush.
