This kinda bothers me. Not because it’s Carter. It’s because of our propensity to treat presidents (and ex-presidents) as if they were high royalty.

My wife and I were discussing that very thing yesterday. I guess that is official protocol.....ours will be half staff for a few days and after that I’ll just bring it in until February.
Trump should order it raised right after he is sworn in...and before our very eyes....and remain unless President Trump says otherwise.
The flag code is only 70 years old.
After being sworn in, Trump should order ALL Federal flags raised to full staff...and hopefully, we should all stand and sing the Star Spangled Banner.
