We last visited in December 2019 or 2018. Wife wanted to go to see the Christmas decorations and markets and such. And it was after her NYC uncle disowned the family for being pro-Trump, so that’s the right time frame.
For a number of reasons it wasn’t the greatest trip. NYC has been seriously downhill since. I can’t imaging why we would go back, at this point. Don’t care about Broadway.
Decorations unless traditional no longer look like Christmas.
Spheres and neon colors with no beauty. Just loud. No graces. Tunnels of led lights. Treetrunks wrapped.
Give me one dad’s spotlit plywood Santa waving from roof or yard. Or a creative nativity scene at a neighborhood house.
I have never wanted to visit or otherwise be in the city of New York City.
I am 63 and I was right never to go there.
