I have reviewed therapist’s training tapes that used guided imagery to help people recover traumatic memories. Many of them were very bad techniques that programmed false memory through suggestive techniques.
Many therapist’s were sued for millions and lost the cases.
Many family relationships were needlessly destroyed.
On one case I worked on the therapist was an MD who insisted that the woman had been sexually molested by her minister father when she was ten years old. It literally destroyed the woman.
Luckily she came to me a few hours after her appointment with the Dr and I was able to minimize the damage.
The stored memories in her soul are physical to me and I was able to show her that no such memory existed in her memory. If it were a real memory, even if it were a false perception of the event it reveals itself to me.
The problem is that most of the time it is mental illness and the person actually believes their false accusations.
An upscale NYC department store like Bergdorf-Goodman has a security system probably on a par with Mar-a-Lago when President Trump was there.
There would have been at least one person assigned to watching dressing room monitors at all times of store operation, and more likely about three. The cameras would have gone to video tape. The NYC police could have secured the relevant camera video tape if Carroll had went to the police or contacted a lawyer in a timely manner.

Yea. No doubt about it. Bearing false witness against someone to send them to prison should be a jailable offense.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!! False claims of domestic abuse, sexual assault and rape ruin the lives of innocent men every day and these women think it’s okay, funny and even FAIR to behave this way!
Accountability fir false accusations is astonishingly rare. They simply face minimal consequences for what they think is a game.
If women get imprisoned and destroy their own lives through the justice system with false claims then maybe they will stop with this crap.
Should a woman be held accountable for paternity fraud?
Should women be held accountable for any crime they commit?
Yes. Bearing false witness should carry the same punishment as the underlying crime.

And the man accused still pays a horrible price...
YES! Absolutely, positively, emphatically YES! False representation should also be grounds for adverse action as well.

If our justice system were working correctly, that would merely be considered hearsay and immediately disregarded.
She should face the sentence that the man was facing.
In the words of that icon of wisdom, Whoopi Goldberg. “Was it rape or rape rape.” Using her logic, I guess the first rape comes with a get out of jail free card, pass goal, collect 200 dollars.
