“For all the manufactured controversy, H1-Bs are legal immigrants.”

If you were in the IT industry you’d be singing a different tune. Over 60% of major corporations IT departments are now staffed by Indians on H1B visas. It didn’t happen by accident. We invented programming computers in this country from scratch and now they’re trying to tell us we don’t know how to maintain them?! Inventing something new out of nothing is the hardest possible thing to do in the world and it wasn’t Indians that did it, it was Americans.

I actually was in IT and worked for the state department of revenue (AKA taxation). It had a “bullpen” with dozens of Indian programmers. I only worked there a year because it was so full of fraud and abuse that I quit. Everything you have ever heard about government corruption I saw. The managers lived all over the country and flew home on Thursdays and back to work on Mondays at state expense. I totally agree that H1-Bs are a problem, but a minuscule problem compared to 15-30 million illegals. You can’t do everything at once. Start with the illegals and work your way down from there.
