President-elect Trump told The Post Saturday he supports immigration visas for highly skilled workers, appearing to side with Elon Musk in the roiling intra-MAGA debate on the issue.

“I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,” Trump said by phone, referring to the H-1B program, which permits companies to hire foreign workers in specialty occupations.“I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program,” added Trump, who restricted access to foreign worker visas in his first administration and has been critical of the program in the past."
Yuge. Bigly.
He got on the phone with Levine, just to weigh in on this ridiculous kerfuffle. That means he wants his message to go into the Sunday talk shows.
This thread should be interesting...
He is obviously going to side with his patron Elon Musk
Dont be disappointed
Elon has made it clear how he feels on this and he said more or less GFY...
Donald, this country only exists for its citizens—not its companies. Companies can’t vote and are not listed in the Constitution.
Remember who voted you in.
Anyone who sides with the H1B visa program is not “America First”. Not Elon and not Trump.
HE’S WRONG
But he didn’t say he supported doubling the H1-B program. Elon and Vivek said double H-1B’s (at least) or eliminate the quota altogether and have ulimited H-1Bs. And then Elon went and called Americans retarded, not smart enough to do tech jobs and said if you need schools it’s too late.
If Trump doesn’t hold up his promises he can FOAD. If Trump doesn’t limit the H-1b invasion and protect American workers he will lose congress in the 2026 midterms and may end up in prison. If that happens I will shoot off fireworks because that is what con artists deserve.
So Trump and Musk are India first over America.
Important:
Question:
Can the president unilaterally halt H1B visas
Answer:
No, the president cannot unilaterally halt H1B visas without legislative action or specific legal authority.
