A group of teenagers learned the hard way that crime doesn’t pay after allegedly attempting to rob a man at gunpoint in Houston, Texas. The incident, which unfolded early Thursday morning, left three of the teens hospitalized after the would-be victim turned the tables, using his own firearm to defend himself.
According to Major J. Suarez of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, four juveniles between the ages of 12 and 14 approached the man while he was walking in the 700 block of Oak Village Drive. Armed with what appeared to be guns, the teens allegedly attempted to rob him. However, it was later revealed that the weapons were BB guns, not real firearms.
The man, reportedly carrying a concealed weapon, reacted by drawing his gun and shooting at the group. Three of the four teens were hit. Police say two are in stable condition, while the third underwent surgery and is expected to recover. The fourth teenager, who was not struck, was taken into custody for questioning.
“The juveniles ranged from ages 12 to 14,” said Major Suarez. “They were all transported to nearby hospitals. Currently, there’s one in critical condition and two in stable condition. Our crime scene investigators and our violent crimes unit investigators responded to the scene and are currently conducting early stages of their investigation.”
He continued, “We do have a fourth juvenile detained and also an adult male detained. It is believed the incident occurred due to an attempted aggravated robbery that involved the juveniles approached the male and they were displaying pistols. The adult male retrieved his own pistol and shot the juveniles.”
The man admitted to shooting the teenagers and subsequently surrendered to the police. Several firearms were collected at the scene, packaged, and dispatched to the forensic laboratory for analysis. In the Lone Star State, citizens are legally permitted to use deadly force if they feel their life is in imminent danger.
A neighbor recounted springing into action upon seeing one of the teens call for help. “I screamed out to him, ‘Are you OK?’ And he just put his hand in the air and screamed for help and I went and tried to help him,” Bruce Bailey explained to KHOU11.
At the time, Bailey was unaware that an attempted robbery had taken place. “I called the sheriff’s department and ambulance to come and pick up the kid – and of course – at that time I didn’t know it was a little kid,” Bailey recounted. “My other neighbor came and held his hand and was talking to him, trying to keep him alive.”
“Of all things, being Christmas, and this is a child, first thing that comes to my mind is, number one, where is the parent. Number two, if you got here with a gun, what are you doing out here with a gun?” the neighbor said.
I hope they don’t press charges against the would-have-been victim.
12=teens. FAFO!
Pat, I would like to solve these puzzles.......
The headline should simply read, “Licensed gun owner successfully defends himself against armed robbers.”
I have a BB gun that looks like a Colt Mustang .380. If it wasn’t mine, there is no doubt it could easily be mistaken for a real weapon. Wasted seconds trying to decide if its real can costs lives.”
It is NOT the job of a victim, or for that matter a cop, to determine if a gun is real when it is pointed at them. So, to those baby mama’s now getting acting lessons for local TV stations, you should have explained something that simple to your boys.
The attempted armed robbery occurred in leftist (”catch and release”) Houston, where young criminals, including the recovering wounded, will likely continue their pattern of attempting armed robberies (or worse) until someone with better aim terminates their habit.
Yup!
Let the law suits commence!
“Let the law suits commence!”
I’m not sure. I think the Texas law protects also protects legal gun owners from civil, as well as criminal ‘prosecution’, so somehow the Ambulance Chaser will have to convince a jury that the victim was looking for trouble, rather than the ‘youths’ being the ones looking for trouble. That is a tough thing to prove and the jury pool there, based on what I’ve heard, is far from diverse.
So, 5% chance of winning anything substantial, in my opinion, of course.
When I was in the infantry, I volunteered to carry the M60 machinegun. Along with that, I was also assigned a .45 as a personal (close-in) weapon of last resort.
I got tired of cleaning two weapons after each field exercise, so I went out and purchased a non-functioning replica to carry to the field instead. Looked identical to the real thing and I was never caught, nor challenged, while carrying it. Even in broad daylight, unless you were actually handling it, you could not tell that the replica was not the real thing.
When I was promoted to Sergeant E-5 and had to give up carrying The Hog, I "passed it along" to the next gunner. As far as I know, 50 years later, it's still being carried by the Company C, 2d Platoon, machinegunner.
“...that the weapons were BB guns, not real firearms.”
You can still put an eye out with that!
“..Any profiles yet on the suspects? LOL! We won’t be seeing that...” conspicuously missing...
🤔😊👍. Sweet. Until weapons inspection pops up and hoping you’re close enough to present the spotless Cosmo line soaked break one.
I read a bunch of comments about this and there are liberals galore saying how evil it is a big bad gun toting !AGA racist just can’t wait to shoot kids with BB Guns. Oh how I wish those liberal hopolophobes would get robbed by “teens” with “BB Guns” and tell us how easy it is to tell a replica airsoft Glock 17 from a real Glock 17. Even Walmart sells CO2 pistols that are exact copies of full size 1911 pistols. And Shirley, “teens” would never think of breaking off the plastic orange tip on toy guns.
Their mother, Cletoreus, is proud...
(Real name. Just like “Shitavious Cook”)

Houston is in Harris County.
And this incident looks like it wasn’t in Houston actual, it’s actually in Humble, which is NE of Houston.
