Alec Baldwin‘s manslaughter case is finally over.
On Monday, special prosecutor Kari Morrissey announced she has withdrawn her appeal of a judge’s order dismissing the case.
The decision came after the state attorney general’s office said that it “did not intend to exhaustively pursue the appeal on behalf of the prosecution,” the prosecutor said.
In a separate statement Monday night, the attorney general’s office said that it “declined to appeal” the case “in light of the significant procedural irregularities” identified by the judge.

“reloaded them with blanks”
The scene required dummies, not blanks.
Ok, dummies. Not much of a difference, when the issue was that the gun used had a bullet in it. Baldwin was supposed to check off his checklist that the armourer had ensured all guns were free of bullets, especially when these guns by reports were actual guns and not prop guns.
Yeah. I’m sure that if an extra had shot the woman he would get off scot-free too. /S
“Ok, dummies. Not much of a difference”
BIG difference! Blanks have a charge and no bullet.
Dummies have a bullet but no charge.
Even so, we are talking pedantics when the issue was Baldwin’s failing to ensure the guns were armed correctly. An actor is supposed to trust his producers, but Baldwin, being the producer, is supposed to ensure safety on the set. It was his job to check those guns and not just leave it to the armourer.
As much as I despise the guy, he should not have been charged. The person in charge of the ammunition, none of which should have been live rounds, should be responsible.
The question is, how did those live rounds make it to the filming set anyway?
You should have kept up with the old threads when it was explained in detail why he was rightfully charged.
He was on Saturday Night Live last week. The frequent hosts of the show got together and shared their secret confessions. Alec’s was “I have too many kids,” not “I just got away with murder.” Tom Hanks also didn’t confess to any of the things he’s been accused of doing.
Rust got its world premiere at Camerimage, a film festival in Poland.
My thoughts as well
See some people are above the law.
I’ll bet the prosecutor had a nice Christmas present under the tree.
That is horrible. He said that he did not pull the trigger, but I heard and watched him say that he pulled back the hammer and then let it drop. Same thing.
Some people really are above the law.
None of us would get such a deal.
