Just wondering if any of my fellow FR friends are, like me, enjoying a solo Christmas Eve. I have all the presents wrapped, Christmas music in the background and will spend the evening with my faithful greyhound, Ralphie Parker and then George Bailey -- the same routine every year.
Any of you folks solo this evening?
Several years back I worked at a park and volunteered to work the Christmas holiday where I got other time off as compensation.
What I noticed were many people, mostly elderly, touring the park on Christmas Day. Typically a single person or a couple. I just guessed they had no place to go to and chose to just get out of the house. And I also realized not everyone celebrates Christmas.
Mine too. Put up a few things, sending the rest to the po.
If youโre alone, who are the presents for? Just curious

Sort of- invited neighbors over- wife pissed in other room- ha!
Best wishes for Christmas Eve and day. ๐๐๐๐
Christmas Eve and day home alone. Quiet and peaceful. Well except for the dogs chickens and livestock. Gonna be a nice few days of quiet reflection and peaceful.
Not solo, but it almost feels like it when compared to the chaos of years past. Four of the six kids are married and are not local. The fifth is engaged and is spending Christmas Eve with fiancรฉ’s family. So, three of us rather then the usual eight.
Out movie routine is a bit different - Charlie Brown and Wonderful Life tonight. I encourage them to watch Ralphie without me earlier in the season.
So, I have a bit of time to hang out with my freeper friends. Merry Christmas to all.
just me dealing with the aftermath of my brother’s suicide and the vultures circling the remnants...
Merry Christmas!...
Hubby and I had planned on being alone, but my brother will be with us tonight. Our place is much closer to the hospital where my SIL is. I made a pot of chili, and that’ll be it for us.
Carpenters Christmas albums are playing.
I am, but with Jesus in your heart, you're never really alone.
Based on how many pies my wife bought, I expect dessert to look like the pie fight in "The Great Race". Hopefully I will able to get in a slice or two.
BTW, the cure for loneliness is spending time alone with Jesus.
Yes. Merry Christmas! George Bailey is a good way to spend the evening.
And sheโs sick in her room
That sounds like my Christmas a few years back. Just my sick daughter who spent the evening in her room, miserable.
I was able to entice her out long enough to watch the first half of MST3K's "Santa Claus." It made her laugh so hard it hurt her stomach, so she went back to her room.
Flying solo with classical Christmas music via KDFC (SFBay) thru the stereo...and watching Fargo (TV series) S2
Just home alone. I’ll be here all night.
Merry Christmas!
Just me and my son here, like last year and the year before.
We’ll watch a little YouTube while we eat supper.
Merry Christmas to you and your buddy. Just me, hubby and Goober. Hubby’s watching YouTube. Something about Studebakers.
Grand kids will be gone to dad’s and his parents. I didn’t put up a tree or lights this year. First time ever. It’ll keep my electric bill down.
