The trendy Texas city of Forth Worth has bumped Austin from its rank as the fourth-largest city in the Lone Star State.

The state capital was knocked down a place, making it the fifth-largest city by population in the state, according to the Texas Demographic Center's 2023 population estimates report.

The report showed population figures for Texas counties and communities for July 1, 2023, and January 1, 2024.

Austin was ranked below Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and Fort Worth.

The capital had a population estimation of 986,928, compared to 989,878 for Fort Worth, which saw a 7.7 percent increase from 2020 census data.

Not only did Forth Worth hold a higher estimated population, but it also saw a higher percentage of population growth compared to Texas' largest communities, Chron reported.

I lived in NW Austin 92-2000. There are some some very conservative pockets in the burbs. Georgetown, Leander.

Give the newbies helpful hints like how to tell the difference between cows and bulls and that the bulls like to be petted.

I can’t speak for the cities, but in the rest of Texas, if they are running into rude Texans on a regular basis, that would be quite an accomplishment.

I may be mistaken but Fort Worth (Tarrant County) is the largest red-voting county in the nation.

It is. And I hope all of those blue-staters don’t ruin it like they do everywhere else they infest. I have friends there and I love to visit. Great vibes there. In fact, I’m headed up there this weekend.

trendy Texas city of Forth Worth

Back in 2018 I was driving through some of the "trendy" neighborhoods near downtown FW. There were so many BETO yard signs I thought I was in Austin.

The lesson: "Trendy" is not necessarily a good thing.

“ One of my favorite memories was seeing a “Drive Friendly” sign riddled with bullet holes.”
Back in the good old days! Back then a trip across TX was measured in 6 packs, not gas mileage!
Abilene to Lubbock? Thats about a 12 pack!
FW to Laredo, that’ll take a case!

The bad drivers are the paper license tags.

One DFW suburb, Grand Prairie, started pulling over all paper plates. The invalid ones were impounded. They collected a fortune, the fake tags kept away, and the accident rates went down.

I wish FW and all the towns around us would get the message.

True. Trendy means that it was recently discovered by hipsters and affluent liberals, who seek to escape their turn it into an urban hellscapes.
There, fixed it.

A lot of them are wading across the Rio Grande.
So I’d say Mexico and parts south.

Austinfornia. Irredeemable Californicators s hole. Only a matter of time until Texas turns blue like California. When I started my Biz in Cali it was solid republican. Texas is on the same path.
