A Texas school district has removed all Bibles from their libraries, citing a law passed last year by the Texas Legislature that bans all books containing sexually explicit material, according to a recent report by the Christian Post.
In a letter to parents by Canyon Independent School District Superintendent Darryl Flusche, he explains that the recently passed House Bill 900 “establishes library standards that restrict content in school libraries” which include “any communication, language, or material, including a written description, illustration, photographic image, video image, or audio file, other than library material directly related to the curriculum required under Section 28.002(a), that describes, depicts, or portrays sexual conduct.”
This standard for library content prohibits books that have one instance of sexual content as described above. Therefore, HB900 doesn’t allow numerous books, including the full text of the Bible, to be available in the school library.
There are 30 titles available in the Canyon Junior High library that are Bible stories or portions of the Bible. If you would like to review those titles, our library books are searchable online through our Library Resources page on the website.
Flusche offers by way of compromise that if any student would like to have a Bible, they have “strong connections with local churches that are happy to donate a Bible upon request” and that they are “more than willing to assist a student who would like access to a Bible by arranging this from one of our partnering churches.”

This is why the left put in pornography and drag queen reading hours, so they could use it as a way to remove the Bible from school.
Hopefully, this will be overturned as it seems unconstitutional.
Begotting is a problem
You may be right- the left aren’t stupid people, they are just conniving evil people who do the bidding of their master Satan either consciously or without realizing it. They plan long term, just like communists did and continue to do. And you may be spot on about inserting lgbtq into schools for the sole purpose of turning around and banning the bible b3cause of content after they get banned for their immoral lgbtq content as well.
I hope so too.
Hypocrisy.
What better way to get teens to read the Bible?
They’re just being petulant. Educators — what hoot!
Did this happen in the Austin neighborhood?
Sheduled this announcement for Christmas/Hanukkah. Nice.
💯.
The Texas legislature wanted to protect school children.
So liberals said “we will show you” how smart college-educated school teachers can be.
So they concocted a plan to hurt school children and pretend it is the fault of the legislature.
That is why we must adopt laws that keep liberals far away from state policy and taxpayer dollars.
Now let’s see them try to remove the Koran for its pedophilia. No?
Nope. The school district in question seems to cover the area immediately south of Amarillo.
Actually, I think this is pretty clever trolling on the part of those who are responsible for doing it. To my eye, they're simply calling out the numb-nut clods in the Texas legislature who are more interested in grandstanding than they are in carefully crafting reasonable legislation.
I mean, fairly typical Texas behavior, right? A lot of arrogant bluster, signifying little of real value when all is said and done. This is why "cultural conservatives" can't have nice things: all of their political champions are idiots.
Those are elected positions?
This is referred to as “malicious compliance.” It works by torturing the meaning of commonly understood words to achieve an ulterior goal (which we all recognize without further explanation).
This bill went into effect in September of 2023. I get the feeling that whoever got this bill through was interested in trying to get people to defend the Bible so they could justify any book that can be determined harmful which is what the bill actually says. The Bible falls under the catagory of harmful if it is being attacked by someone other than a person who believes in it.
The libraries carry periodicals that deal with material considered explicit, and almost any book can have material with the same problem. They could easily just talk about Dick and Jane and where Sally came from. How about the falling down of Hansel and Gretel? It doesn’t have to be just sexual. Wouldn’t killing sheep be on the list? So much for the boy who cried woof. This is a can of worms.

“Beget” is sexually explicit? Or “cleave”?
Honi soit qui mal y pense - shame on him who thinks evil of it
Well to be honest, the story of Lot and his daughters is about as “out there” as it gets.
yada yada yada.
