Japanese automakers Honda and Nissan have announced plans to join forces, forming the world’s third-largest automaker by sales as the industry undergoes dramatic changes in its transition away from fossil fuels.
The two companies said they had signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday and that smaller Nissan alliance member Mitsubishi Motors also had agreed to join the talks on integrating their businesses.
“We anticipate that if this integration comes to fruition, we will be able to deliver even greater value to a wider customer base,” Nissan’s CEO Makoto Uchida said in a statement.

Wow…I don’t know about this.
This could be bad for Honda. Unless they intend on using the original Japanese quality Nissan plants and not the crap Nissan that merged with both low quality FIAT AND RENAULT.
I hope they have fixed them Nissan transmissions!
I like mine as well, and I'm looking for a new one... :)
There goes the 6 cylinder replaced by a 4.

A dollar here and a dollar there won’t hurt him too much.
Shades of Packard and Studebaker, AFAIK Nissan has been in trouble for years, so sounds like trouble ahead.
Honda - Nissan - Mitsubishi..............Interesting..........
Here, the Honda dealership is right next door to the Nissan dealership..........
The established automakers are on a rough road. German Manufacturers are hit by higher energy costs, tough labor laws and Chinese competition incoming. Stellantis is on life-support, I don’t know if the change at the top was in time. The Japanese are like Germany, basically an export driven business. Luckily the Japanese Government has the best internet of Japan in mind, unlike Germany. But it’s the Chinese that are going to ruin the game! Europe is the 1st beach head of the war. USA is next. The US car companies should kiss Trump’s ass, he will save them. The democrats would of milked them dry, then held the parade for the invasion of Chinese!
I just hope the Nissan Frontier survives. For the money.....I think it’s the best value out there with good looks too, strong engine. I’m on my 3rd....I usually get a new one every 5 years or so. Tacoma is the standard but expensive too.
Me too.....2025. Ive already alerted my wife. She can’t complain....she got a new BMW x3m40i last year. Fast car too. But I’m about ready for the new Frontier...hopefully it will survive.
I think they did. Got rid of that VRT or whatever it is....I think they did. I have no issues with my 2019 Frontier in any case.
Did the Frontier replace the X-Terra? I liked those but believe they discontinued them.
I remember seeing a Soviet Lada dealership in Sault St. Marie, Ontario, Canada, back in the ‘70s. Would occasionally see the cars being driven there on our way to Northern fishing spots as a kid. Odd lookers.
Love both of my Mitsubishi Outlanders and wow.
Here it is in the same building as Toyota.
No, the Xterra was a small suv as I recall. The Frontier is a mid size truck, been around for decades. I think the best value out there and a very strong engine and looks great. I just never had problems with them.....of course I sell usually around 80,000 miles to get a new one.
I don’t like to keep em too long, then it’s nickel dime repairs and hassles.
I bet Honda switches it to a turbo 4.
Same here in NH. They are owned by the same person. They share a parking lot.
I think the Qashqui is a nice vehicle. I’ve heard good things about it.
