It’s a great app here in DC if you want to see how TDS destroys sanity. You can watch in real time as people deny that how they voted had anything to do with rising crime rates. Prch thieves are recorded in all their glory and insouciance with not a comprehension as to how the 96% approved DC establishment is the establishment they keep voting for. It’s like watching a bunch of lab rats run the maze of their sorry existence watching lemmings run off of cliffs and not comprehending the lemmingness of their own existence.

I have a local Nextdoor account, and you’re pretty much right. Gossips, lost pet notifications, once in a while there’s something posted that is actually useful to me. What really aggravates me is that a lot of times, whatever is posted has already been news for three or four days, then it shows up in my email as something new.

Really not very useful or informative. OH, and then there’s people looking for handouts.

Here a Walmart was changing its facade, underneath was the insulation that had Lowe’s” stamped on it. Nextdoor came alive with why the Walmart should no be replaced by Lowe’s.

I’ve had it for about a year or so and I deactivated it due to this post. I may have posted once or twice on it but really the value of the site never really rose to the amount of time one wasted going through junk that you describe so well.

Agree. IMO, it’s a ‘civilian’ version of LinkedIn where once you join you get emails, notifications and other ad/trash information they sold about you.
