Abortion increased 90% in the nation’s abortion capital of New York, one report shows.
Outlawing abortion in pro-life states certainly reduces abortion incidences, but just in those states. Those restrictions do not appear to have the same effect nationwide.
Like squeezing a balloon, abortion regulations push women out of pro-life states like Texas to abortion tourism destinations like New York or to illegally mail order dangerous chemical abortion pills.
Historically, when it comes to abortion policy and trends, as goes New York, so goes the nation.
2023 is the first full year in a post-Roe America. According to a recent article, the Guttmacher Institute claims New York’s 2023 numbers are up 90% over 2022 to a whopping 130,000. That’s the highest number ever recorded for a single year since NY legalized abortion in July of 1970.
And predictably dancing to New York’s turn, nationwide reports show abortion increasing to over a million for the first time in 10 years—a number which likely doesn’t include many chemical abortions sourced internationally or through covert domestic dealers.
Preliminary analysis demonstrates that chemical abortion (listed as “medical” under operative procedures) is up 27% in 2022 over 2021. Chemical abortion continued its upward trend, now representing 46% of all NY abortions, an increase from 41% in 2021.
Most of the overall increase occurred in New York City in the following Counties:
The Bronx: Up 25% (from 8,799 to 10,976)
Kings (Brooklyn): Up 18% (from 11,856 to 14,019)
Queens: Up 19% (from 8,756 to 10,442)
New York (Manhattan): Up 25% (from 5,509 to 6,875)
The culprit? Chemical abortion, responsible for 71% of the overall increase in NYC.
Bear in mind this DOES NOT include abortion tourism, abortions provided to out-of-state women who either traveled to NY to get one or who were sent abortion pills from NY (illegally). Oddly, New York State refuses to release that public data.
As early as 2019 in anticipation of the overturn of Roe, the abortion industry aggressively began pivoting away from surgical abortion to chemical abortion to navigate coming state restrictions
While these numbers are tragic, CompassCare anticipated the influx, daring to build infrastructure to compete with the chemical abortion trade. In response, many NY pregnancy centers have come under fire from New York’s pro-abortion Attorney General, Letitia James.
There is no shortage of abortion in New York. Yet, instead of protecting women, abortion hub states like New York attack pro-life medical offices, robbing women of a valuable choice for free medical care and community support.
The abortion battlelines have been redrawn for America’s post-Roe political map. And while state abortion restrictions may not be the ultimate solution to America’s abortion addiction, there are other tools.
The numbers are tragic. But CompassCare anticipated New York’s abortion expansion which is why we began aggressively building life-saving infrastructure in abortion hub cities like Buffalo, Albany, Brooklyn and The Bronx.
And watching the abortion industry quickly pivoting away from surgical abortion to chemical abortion, anticipating massive state restrictions, we built a TeleCare nursing team to reach women online 7-days-a-week, educating her on the dangers of chemical abortion and offering her the opportunity to reverse the effects if she took the first dose. Women need alternatives to abortion now more than ever.
This is why God put CompassCare/EMC Frontline in the heart of America’s abortion capital. God is blessing pro-life Christians with an opportunity to use our faith to cast this mountain of death and injustice called abortion into the sea of oblivion, one woman, one baby at a time (Mk. 11:23). More opportunities to save more lives are coming.
Now is the time to dig deep! You are on the frontlines of the greatest civil rights battle in the history of mankind. Take courage! Remember, we win. The future is pro-life as will be proclaimed with loud voices from heaven, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever” (Rev. 11:15). Imagine what stories of salvation will be told with all the saints in heaven because of your faithfulness to women and their preborn here on earth. It is an honor to serve alongside you. Looking forward to being the busiest pro-life medical network in the U.S., helping twice as many women have their babies in 2025 as we did in 2024!
Serve women. Save babies. Never stop.

May the complications be many - and severe....
No point to doing so. :)
I wonder how long it will be before God’s patience runs out and He delivers a “just reward” to the countries and states that engage in baby slaughter.
Ultra-nuanced Mario Cuomo used to say it a lot. For a while they all said it.
Haven't heard it lately.
Just wait until cancer rates and suicides skyrocket with these women. It will be discovered that the abortion pill is hazardous to women’s health.
A person either wishes to educate others or simply show off his or her own arrogance.
I was serious in asking for illumination. This forum has always been a great place for the exchange of ideas. I don’t have to agree with your opinion, I do, however, enjoy learning from other’s perspectives.
Being arrogant is not a good look for someone in your position. It’s rather tawdry.
“Men don’t get a choice in ANYTHING sealing with the woman nor the baby...”

That’s not entirely correct as there are several things men have complete control over when it comes to a woman and the potential baby.
A man does *not* have to have sex with the woman. It’s a choice unless it’s a result of a man being raped by a woman. And there IS such a thing as rape by a woman: It is a combination of physical reactions. Yes. I, as a woman, accept that men can be brought to a physical reaction beyond thier normal boundries. I detest women who would abuse their sexual partners or victims.
A man does *not* have to provide any of his sperm to Sperm Banks...it’s either vanity or money that prompts it. Both of those reasons can logically be dealt with by men.
Murder by abortion has been state sanctioned (ie government) for decades. Any man bedding someone out of marriage is automatically placing his potential offspring at risk.
Marriage does tend to lower the odds of abortion.
Don’t have sex prior to marriage, and especially with a married or otherwise engaged woman. Or prostitute.
It changes how the man reacts to the woman, placing him in the weaker position of authority.
Yes, I realize it sounds crazy. It’s a fact though.
I’m not saying you are wrong. Because once the woman is with child you have lost the battle.
I am trying to explain there are ways men can avoid having potential offspring killed.
And WOMEN don’t have to open their legs...
Nope no point to explain to you.
Women SHOULDN’T open their legs outside of marriage. And married women SHOULDN’T engage voluntarily in adultry (sex outside of marriage).
Sound thinking.
Any man who would rather pay a prostitute for sex rather than pay her to read a book is entirely selfish.
Both sexes are guilty of sexual sins.
Sigh. True, nevertheless.
“Nope no point to explain to you.”

I understand.
Thankfully, I have never in my life had a prostitute, and never will.
“Thankfully, I have never in my life had a prostitute, and never will.”

Well done, sir.
I only mentioned prostitution because both sexes are damaged in the usage of paid sexual encounters. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually, both sex partners are placed at risk.
It’s only later down the road of Life the damage is seen and by then....so many others are caught in the crossfire.
Sigh.
Again, well done.
