Rickey Henderson, a Baseball Hall of Famer and MLB’s all-time stolen bases leader, has died, The Post has confirmed. He was 65.
Henderson, a 10-time All-Star and 1990 American League MVP, was the game’s greatest base stealer, racking up 1,406 stolen bags in his career, an MLB record that still stands.

That was the same day that Nolan Ryan threw his SEVENTH no-hitter.
Talk about a lot happening.

After he couldn’t get any Major League teams to hire him, when he was about 46, he played for the San Diego Surf Dawgs which was below level A in the minors...I think the team lasted just one season. He was twice as old as the other players on his team. He just loved playing baseball so much and didn’t want to stop.
He was really fun to watch play back in the good times.
RIP Mr. Henderson
Best sparkplug ever! He would be on my on my all time team for sure.
Was he killed off like Hank Aaron was with a deadly vaccine?
Good one. Any other facts from a headline you can contribute baseball douche?
I hope repented. Stealing all those bases. Sad.
You know nothing about baseball yes.
Boring. Loser. You read a headline. Good for you. Now beat it. I have no time for idiots.
Lead-off hitter is certainly a niche but you can also certainly make the case that Rickey Henderson was the best ever at the position. Better than even Pete Rose.
LOL! I remember some quote from Tony Gwynn when he and Henderson were Padres teammates and Henderson was complaining in the clubhouse about his shoe 'Rickey lost a cleat!'! Hilarious!
Like many of the great-greats, they love the game so much they can't let go.
Bill James and SABR-metrics notwithstanding (and I am a big believer in James), over 3000 hits and all-time leader in runs scored are inarguable.
Elaine Benes: the Mets lost and Rickey Henderson is unhappy....
Quiet rube
No argument here. Rickey only spent about a month and a post season with the Blue Jays. He got a ring for his trouble. I just recalled that peak moment and his role in it.
Does your mom know you are on the computer? Homo.
You aren’t qualified to speak, and therefore, not allowed to speak, about Henderson or baseball. You slob.
You aren’t qualified to do anything because you’re a 12 year old boy. You never even saw the guy play, moron. You’ve picked a strange hill to die on twerp. No go back to your Lego set and STFU. Homo.
I wonder how many times he stole home?
