Trump goes after Chip Roy (X)
X ^ | 12/19/2024 | Donald Trump

Posted on 12/19/2024 1:47:43 PM PST by Beave Meister

The very unpopular "Congressman" from Texas, Chip Roy, is getting in the way, as usual, of having yet another Great Republican Victory - All for the sake of some cheap publicity for himself. Republican obstructionists have to be done away with. The Democrats are using them, and we can't let that happen. Our Country is far better off closing up for a period of time than it is agreeing to the things that the Democrats want to force upon us. Biden is President, and it's his obligation to properly lead. We're there to do the right thing, and we can't agree with what Biden and the Democrats are demanding. Weak and ineffective people like Chip have to be dismissed as being utterly unknowledgeable as to the ways of politics, and as to Making America Great Again. Put "America First," and go for the Victory, even if it means shutting the Government down for a period of time. We had an overwhelming Victory just four weeks ago, and we're not going to let the Democrats forget it so quickly!

This is about strategy, not principles. Trump wants to use next year to deal with spending cuts and a host of other important issues which he plans to implement through a reconciliation bill. Negotiating that is going to take most of Congress’s time for about the first 2 months. Starting the year off with a government shutdown will put undue pressure on Congress to rush through a potentially sub-par reconciliation bill or else spend time working on a debt ceiling bill first, rather than the more important reconciliation bill.

Chip Roy is a Bush wonk and a grandstander. Just another political puke.

Don’t compare Roy to the pusillanimous Crenshaw who is only and always about himself.

Sorry, but in this case, the comparison is apt.

All this is is grandstanding on the part of Massie.

It helps our enemies period.

You may be right. I just don’t like the public attacks on people who mostly on our side but don’t always agree. I’m fine with public denouncement of people like McConnell.

Re: 63 - re: debt ceiling. Disappointed that raising the debt ceiling for two *years* was in the bill.

They need to pass a clean CR. Period. Then have a bill for other things.

Posters / readers that think things will be different in the next Congress may be in for a surprise. The R majority will be razor thin again.

I guess you live in California aka Califubar. If so you should be very careful about criticizing another state.

Chip Roy — defender of Liz Cheney and the J6 committee, called Trump’s J6 speech “impeachable conduct,” worked for a “Stop Trump” SuperPAC, and most recently undermined Trump’s push to stop the CR bill being rammed through Congress.

Oh yeah, in in the summer of 2020 he pathetically virtue signaled and said he was impressed by George Floyd’s “life and work.”

This fool needs to be primaried, bigly.
