Zelensky defiantly stood his ground in Kyiv as Russia invaded - despite reports that Russia would claim it in days.
UKRAINE drafted a secret plan to move its government to London before tyrant Vladimir Putin invaded in February 2022.
But when Russian forces launched their illegal assault Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky famously refused Western pleas to seek safe haven.
"The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride," he told the US, according to the Ukrainian embassy in Britain.
The embassy said Ukrainians were "proud of their President" as he stood strong in the face of danger when Putin was expected to be able to take capital Kyiv in just a matter of days.
Vadym Prystaiko, former Ukrainian ambassador to London, revealed details behind the London-Ukraine contingency plan.
He said: "As far as our work in London is concerned, we actually proactively wanted to offer the [Ukrainian] government a place to continue our work at the time of possible search for a place.
"When we talked to our colleagues in Britain, no one talked about a government in exile.
"They talked about the continuation of the [Ukrainian] government [from London]."
He added: "This was not a decision of the Ukrainian government.
"It was my proposal at the time, if needed."

Kyiv in 3 days!
LOL Pootie couldn’t even take Kiev WITHOUT Zyyy getting the “ammo.”
That’s a lot of sponges.
Putin sent tanks to conquer Kyiv but forgot to send fuel trucks.
So, neo-Nazis are going to be replacing the Islamic caliphate currently running London?
4,000!!!
There was never a war on Kiev. If there had been, it would have ended up being a parking lot.
The British media is less believable than Babylon Bee.
He didn’t want Kiev or he would have massively invaded with a much larger force at the beginning.
He was looking for negotiations which almost happened until Boris traveled there to tell Zelensky no way.
It would have been a much better solution than what it has proven to be.
From Kyiv in 3 days to Kyiv was just a feint? lol!
Putin attempted to replicate the “100 hours to Baghdad” that the US did in Iraq. Had he succeeded he would have removed Zelensky and installed a puppet regime. It would have made the Russian military look like the equal of the west.
Instead the hollowed out military didn’t have enough functional equipment to do this. Poorly maintained tanks and official corruption led to the offensive towards Kiev stalling out. A military that looked good on paper wasn’t able to perform in the field.
But here are some "actuals" showing serious journalism, UK style.
Beware of that dangerous chicken, "in three days."
As to the post itself, Marcus-in-three-days missed the much longer and more detailed UKRAINIAN article. The short video from a far longer interview the SUN embedded was Ukrainian, though unsourced.
"Prystaiko is sure that the time for negotiations has not yet come. But, the diplomat continues, it is not necessary to wait until we regain the borders of 1991 to sit down at the negotiating table. 'Diplomats often define peace or victory as a state better than before the war. In other words, as a result of our war, we should be in a better position than we were before. Our future agreements should be based on guarantees that our children and grandchildren will not have to fight'.”

"Zelensky issued a presidential decree announcing his sacking, saying he had also been removed as Ukraine's representative to the International Maritime Organization."
Ukraine's Zelensky sacks ambassador to UK Prystaiko after criticism BBC, 21 July 2023.
"Prystaiko was interviewed about the exchange the following day on Sky News, where he was asked whether there was a 'hint of sarcasm' in Zelensky’s response to Wallace. Prystaiko conceded there was 'a little bit of sarcasm,' and went on to say: 'I don't believe this sarcasm is healthy'. 'We don't have to show the Russians that we have something between us. They have to know that we are working together. If anything happens, Ben [ Wallace ] can call me and tell me everything he wants,' said Prystaiko. CNN has attempted, unsuccessfully, to reach Prystaiko for comment.

But here is a current view, via a Ukraine source:
" 'We have not done enough with you. We haven't fought corruption, we haven't fought inefficiency, we haven't built up our armed forces, we haven't reformed them. Also, our partners who did not want us there acted under the influence of Russia, acted in their own interests (the same as Hungary). It doesn't matter now. What matters is that we have remained where we are: we only declared and set ourselves up for this attack, without actually having sufficient opportunities to defend ourselves. It was not a good version of diplomacy," the former ambassador believes."

Quite the complex situation, when the UK tabloids are not one's only source.
Zelensky needed an Uber, as in "Ukraine Uber Alles, Mein Führer Sieg Heil!"
Anything that fits the Democrat narrative, I guess!
;^)
Sorry, I disagree, You sound like a neocon.
Secret plan to move Ukraine’s capital to LONDON
