Another that I like is often heard this season, even though it has nothing to do with Christmas.

Winter Wonderland--Richard Himber & His Ritz Carlton Orchestra (1934)

Least favorite: Little Drummer Boy - Imagine if you will, a newborn baby next to a kid pounding on a drum

Favorite: Run Run Rudolph (It’s Chuck Berry!)

Honorable mention: Winter Wonderland (Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics)

Christmas Canon by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Not to the rock instrumental version, though that one is good, but the version with the children’s choir. Great song. Worst Christmas song is any version of a classic or original song written in the last thirty years.

If the link is what I think it is, I’m not watching it, but thanks anyway.

Can’t spell crap without rap.

I love Mel Torme’s “Christmas Song”

I despise John Lennon’s ripoff of “Stewball”

I was in the band for all of middle school and high school, so I’ve played all the traditional songs 1000+ times and can’t really stand them. The exception is Sleigh Ride. But as for favorite? Easy! “You’re a mean one Mr. Grinch” by the late great Thurl Ravenscroft (he was also the voice of Tony the Tiger, and a bunch of things at Disneyworld).

And THIS version of O Holy Night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk4woNRD7NQ

Any hymns composed by the Wesley’s are my favorites, especially when you read/sing all the verses, chock full of sound theology:

Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!

Chrissie Hynde's version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas deserves special mention as a good one.

“I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”

I put that on a Christmas CD I made for my future wife and stepdaughter. This was the song stepdaughter kept asking to hear.
