Anti-Trump Republicans find themselves in a political no man's land after Trump's win
NPR ^ | 11/25/24 | Sarah Mcammon

Former President Donald Trump is known for rewarding loyalty and attacking his political enemies.

Despite that risk, many current and former high-profile Republicans publicly opposed him and threw their weight behind Vice President Harris in the 2024 election.

Now, anti-Trump conservatives are regrouping, says Craig Snyder, former director of Haley Voters for Harris.

"These are people who had significant career and personal investments in Republican politics and who threw it all away, burned the bridge — knowingly burned the bridge — because they couldn't abide Donald Trump and they wanted to support Vice President Harris," Snyder said

Yes, I understand, that not everybody loves Trump, and some would prefer somebody else as president.
But, voting for Harris!?, that’s an abomination!

Sounds like it’s a hell of their own making. What did they think was going to happen. Maybe they could send us a postcard from time to time.

I supported John Kasich in 2016, supported a Dem named Gabbart (until she dropped out & I switched to Trump), supported De Santos in 2024, haven’t been a Republican since March 2003, voted for Trump the last 3 times, and fear what deficit spending nightmare we might still have with another 4 Trump years. Right now he is talking the talk. Will he walk the walk? The numbers will tell the truth.

I totally regret supporting Kasich in 2016. De Santis has been a good Fla gov. Some great folks in the Trump team. I am a huge fan of the DOGE idea. The National Debt issue is inexcusable.

But, but, but Paul Ryan is a conservative. He said so many times.

Correct. Even if they didn’t like or trust Trump. Supporting Harris is a sure indicator that they don’t have a single conservative bone.

Defund NPR. Why are non-leftist taxpayers helping to fund such a leftist propaganda mill? Paging Elon Musk. . .

RINO’s are not conservatives. They are globalists, elitists, and servants of corporate interests allied with the deep state bureaucracy.

The Democrat Party will never trust Republican Quislings—with good reason.

“Walsh says people like him are left with few choices: form a new party or become a Democrat. Tim Miller ... says many are being “thrust into…a semi-permanent alliance” with the Democratic Party. I think some never-Trumpers are gonna be more comfortable with that than others,” Miller predicted.”

of course they’ll be comfortable with coming all the way out of the RINO closet and joining the Democrat Party of ultra-leftist fascist elitist oligarchs, monopolists, profiteers, censors, gaslighters, demagogues. woke snowflakes, and sexual weirdos, because that’s who they really were all along! ... It’s probably a relief to drop all of that pretense .. OTOH, will their new buddies ever truly trust them, a la Liz Cheney?

The Obama effect of installing Biden to lengthen his grip over Amerika to 16 years has turned out to have been a huge mistake. Trump used that interim four years to extend his grip on the RNC to 12 years, thus Trump has been able to span over 2-3 senator terms and all the congress critters. Giving
Trump holding power over the RNC for 12-years has really gave MAGA a chance JD Vance and possibly eight more. The MAGA effect will cleanse the ranks of the McCain/Romney types, and the remianing ones like Rubio are being outsmarted by giving up senator jobs for appointments.

RINOs do more damage than democrats.

By a vast margin. That's why before MAGA Republicans got on the scene, I had always voted third party.

They're still making questionable decisions such as banning TikTok.

Matt Gaetz opposed the ban. But they got rid of him.

I just looked him up and agree with you.

I’ve known some Mormons, and they all seemed to be honest, hardworking, patriotic and family-oriented people. But, as you say, they sure can choose the wrong politicians at times.

The UT republicans had better hold his feet to the fire in the upcoming confirmations and from then on.

Thanks for the alert.
