Fifty years after he resigned the presidency, Richard Nixon is back. At least, some people on the right would like us to believe that he is and that it's time for conservatives to embrace his legacy wholeheartedly and to reject the stale leftist narratives about Watergate (among other things) that have sullied his reputation.
It is necessary to reject the standard left-wing gloss on Nixon. But doing so hardly absolves Nixon of his sins. From a conservative perspective, there was good to the man and his presidency, but also bad — and ugly. Conservatives will only learn the right lessons from ...

Mt point was that Nixon does not deserve To in the same sentence as President Trump. Trump is one of the great Americans in history, not a rhino globalist sell out.
Whatever you say, Karen.
Excellent reply. Honesty is more important than an R or D beside a person’s name.
I did not support Nixon in 60, 68, 72 nor Ford, nor Daddy Bush, nor Dole, nor McLame, nor Romney. (I did vote for that lady from Alaska.)
Did I do something wrong?
This a-hole is younger than some of my grandchildren - and he’s telling me what I should think about Richard Nixon and the Watergate frame-up? Good grief.
Where do people find these stupid articles? Oh, that’s right - NR.
wheres the proof he covered up anything??..all the things the media claimed he did...NEVER HAPPENED!! The committee recommened he be impeached for obstruction of justice...again, what they claim was the “obstruction” NEVER HAPPENED. They also charged something called “abuse of power” The problem is, theres no such crime as ABUSE OF POWER! Any decision the President makes, the other party can scream “thats abuse of power”. To this day, nobody can actually pin point exactly what laws he broke. More evidence is coming out how the Judges in the case colluded with the Prosecutors. Mark Felt, so called “Deep Throat”, committed felony after felony leaking info to Bob Woodward. Whole thing was a political hit job.
exactly right. Kudos...
A lot of videos of him have been popping up on YouTube from the Nixon Foundation. He was a brilliant man. He predicted a number of things we are dealing with now - his warnings were not heeded. Iran was a big one.
I would have voted for Scmidtz in 1972.
I also wrote in Palin in 2008.
It’s M. Stanton Evans—I once worked for him. Conservatives liked Nixon for nailing Alger Hiss, saving Israel, bombing Hanoi, and putting together what would become the Reagan Coalition.
Those were the good things he did. But he did too many awful things.
thats why he won the biggest landslide in history.
He was running against a freaking marxist lover. In a sane America, Trumpcshould have won 47 States!
it was a much more complex, dangerous time back then. Trump was and is too stupid to have been President then.
ibtz
I did vote for Schmitz in '72. And I voted for John Ashcroft in the primary.
I had to mail in my primary vote from Germany. When I did the paperwork, I had to make an appointment with the US consul in Saarbrücken and raise my right hand and swear that my statements were true before my ballot was mailed in. It was the first time I voted.
No country has helped to kill or harm more Americans post WWII than China. Either in the frozen land of Korea, or aiding and helping the NVA.
American presidents, regardless of party, always look the other way to the harm China does.
John Hosper 1972. Robert F Kennedy clone Dick Gregory 1968.
