Fifty years after he resigned the presidency, Richard Nixon is back. At least, some people on the right would like us to believe that he is and that it's time for conservatives to embrace his legacy wholeheartedly and to reject the stale leftist narratives about Watergate (among other things) that have sullied his reputation.
It is necessary to reject the standard left-wing gloss on Nixon. But doing so hardly absolves Nixon of his sins. From a conservative perspective, there was good to the man and his presidency, but also bad — and ugly. Conservatives will only learn the right lessons from ...

I was just sent the documentary I was interviewed for back in August, as well as the source of my interview with permission to make my own documentary out of it. Henry and Moore as authors of Night Before Christmas. REALLY frustrating that one of the Moore aficionados says NO PROOF. It’s that same old problem, trying to explain why statistical analysis of the movement of the tongue in the mouth while reciting aloud is just too complicated and people’s eyes glaze. So instead of saying there’s proof but it’s difficult to explain, they skipped EVERYTHING about the statistical analysis. Deep sigh.

There are so many delicate things about Poetry, Lyrics, and Literature that are hard to explain.
Tomorrow I am recording a song I wrote on commission for a documentary about the Military dogs in Vietnem.
I had to extract the Lyrics from a Short Story, which meant I had to apply a LOT of edits, to meter the lyrics and make it “sing”.
The Author of the Story didn’t want to part with any of his adverbs!
I think I did a decent job.
I hope he likes it.

All presidents, from FDR forward, made recordings! The Commies went after Mr. Nixon from the time he ran against Helen Gahagan Douglas for the Senate and then beat her!!
Nixon did more than any other politician in my 81 years to send the US in the wrong direction. He made the states addicted to borrowed Fed money. The states now have to raise taxes to match the money the Fed borrows. The #1 inefficiency is the redundancy of the Feds borrowing money to finance what is not the Feds concern.

I’m always frustrated when I’m reading English lyrics that don’t match the Korean syllables. So I searched for all translations of the song and lined them up so I could see how much leeway I’d have in inventing a new lyric that matched meaning. Then I did the standard thing you’d do with poetry for rhythm and matched lyrics with syllables until I could imagine it was almost 1 for 1 as I listened. Really liked the singer but the song was from a drama that was the absolute pits, so I ran it with video from a great show about a long-lived alien who comes to earth during an historical period and lives today waiting for his ET PHONES HOME moment about to happen. But just before he’s going to leave, he falls in love with a fading actress. Great drama.
