The woman at the center of the Duke University lacrosse rape case has finally admitted she lied when she accused three young men of sexual assault in 2006.
Crystal Mangum, from Durham, North Carolina, came under the spotlight in 2006 when she accused the trio of gang raping her during a party where she was hired as a stripper.
The 46-year-old mother-of-three is currently in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder for stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in 2011.
It was from prison where she spoke to Let's Talk with Kat, an independent content creator who released an interview with her Thursday.
There, Mangum admitted that she'd made the entire thing up.
'I testified falsely against them by saying that they raped me when they didn't and that was wrong, and I betrayed the trust of a lot of other people who believed in me,' she said.
Mangum even admitted that the three men 'trusted me that I wouldn't betray their trust.'
'[I] made up a story that wasn't true because I wanted validation from people and not from God.'
She claimed that it was her search for validation that led her to become a stripper despite having a college education.
Mangum then asked the three men she accused - David Evans, Colin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann - to accept her apologies.

Every “news” outlet that pushed this narrative needs to be held accountable. Sue them into oblivion
I'd love to see all the old news stories from that time insisting the boys were guilty, dredged up for watching again.
Princess Mangum needs to really come clean now if she is remorseful. She needs to name names of politicians and customers who were sexually involved with her prior to the Duke incident.
The Duke administrators who signed off on it need to be sued to oblivion.
Nifong is the model for the Alvin Bragg mode of “creative” prosecutions. Bragg uses whores too as his star witness in his star chamber political prosecutions.

I live in Raleigh and remember it well. Her initial motivation was to get another fix of the prescription pain meds that she so much craved and was addicted to. She left it at that until corrupt DA Mike Nifong picked up the case as a cause celebre for his reelection campaign.
Don’t forget the ”Duke 88,” a batch of nitwit faculty members who hired a full page ad declaring these students racist guilty rapists. Duke ended up paying so money in settlement they might have had to dip into their endowment fund.
Seems like a good time to fire up the Litig-o-matic. The extra large one.

She told the other stripper that went with her that she was going to make the accusation against the boys before they went inside to dance.

On frst read I thought this was bs, but it is likely true. I’ve read about strippers feeling a sense of power over the horndogs in their audience. In this case, Crystal Mangum was massively disrepected, and treated like dirt by a mob of drunk, racist, white frat boys/athletes — angry because they thought they had paid for a pretty white chick, not an overweight black girl. Instead of validation she was torn down to nothing. Accusing them of rape = instant empowerment.
If she has learned that self esteem comes from God or within, good for her.
God must be in prison. That’s where all the low life go to find Him.
Anecdotally, I had been disappointed in the educators in the system for 8 years even as I ultimately achieved my doctorate in dentistry several decades ago. And that was in a discipline relatively insulated from politics.
Now in 2024 I personally have little but contempt for academia.
Say what you want but this is one of a very few ACTUAL apologies I’ve heard from anyone on the left for half a dozen years or so...
