This writer, a leftist calls her a 'neophyte' but makes some good points. Lara should not be given anything. She could earn it by challenging Tillis in NC where she's from. DeSantis appointing her would be too much like Blagojevich.

**By the early 20th century, a series of well-publicized corruption scandals meant that momentum for a constitutional amendment had gathered steam. After ratification of the 17th Amendment in 1913, senators would henceforth be directly elected by their state’s voters.**

It’s still a millionaires club. It’s the members who can self fund. I didn’t contribute to Sheehy in Mt. He could buy it. Before the 17th amendment rich folk would bribe state legislators to get the job.

Getting DeSantis to pick Lara sounds too risky for the rats to leave alone but I must admit it would be a good in-your-face act.

I don’t agree. Lara did an excellent job keeping the November 2024 election honest. She has proven herself. I hope DeSantis will appoint her to the Senate.

Appointing Lara has a bad look. I admire candidates who run and win.

She does not deserve it!

She and her RNC counterpart did NOTHING to try to stop the cheating and stealing of 4 Senate seats and numerous House seat. They were doing victory laps for Trump while the counting in California went on for over a month and flipped several ruby red seats!

She's no better than Ronna McRomRom.

DeSantis is ethically free to name anyone he wants, assuming no conflict of interest. If he wants to name Lara Trump, I see no ethical issue. None. Who are these people who think they are the self-appointed moral arbiters anyway?

Besides, the Democrats are going to shout "CORRUPTION" or anything else they think will serve their propaganda regardless of truth or facts. I say ignore appearances and fulfill substance.

If Lara's as smart as she appears to be, she'll help defeat the Democrats by performance, and their propaganda will have no more effect than it did on November 5, 2024.

I want Rubio to stay in the Senate.

Republicans need every Hispanic vote they can get.

Donald “Dudley Doright” Trump should have learned a lesson from the Jeff Sessions loss of the Senate debacle.

Donald Trump can find another Spanish speaker to be Secretary of State. Trump probably appointed a number of ambassadors to Spanish speaking countries. Many CEOs speak Spanish.

Perhaps this guy for Secretary of State:

https://hispanicexecutive.com/podcast/the-latino-majority/the-latino-majority-e47-oscar-munoz/

“Oscar Munoz is the former CEO and chairman of United Airlines and serves on the board of directors of Salesforce, CBRE, TelevisaUnivision, and Archer Aviation, a leading Urban Air Mobility company and developer of all-electric vertical take-off and landing (“eVTOL”) aircraft.

“In addition to his service to the Pentagon’s Defense Business Board, he is a trustee of the University of Southern California and the Brookings Institution, as well as an independent trustee for Fidelity. He is the author of a recent memoir, Turnaround Time, published by Harper Business in spring 2023.”

From Ronny’s point of view.

If he wants to remain the king of Florida politics, Lara Trump might be a risky choice as she could take some of his shine and maybe his crown so to speak.

The safe pick is Matt Gaetz.

I don’t think Gaetz would threaten what Jeb 2.0 has going in Florida politics.

Gaetz thinks bigger whether that is his strength or flaw is debatable.

Apples and Oranges argument. Blagojevich was indicted for attempting to sell Obamas vacancy to the highest bidder. Read the indictment. I don’t see similarities.

I think Laura would be great. There are so many Republican traitors in the senate it would be nice to have an 100% loyal supporter amongst them. Someone to hold their feet to the fire and supports Trumps policy and not give it lip service.

She is just as capable as anyone in there now and 10x more loyal to the country. There are several that talk a good game (RINOs) and have allowed the country to go to hell in a hand basket.
