Joe Biden Commutes Sentences For Roughly 1,500 People, Grants 39 Pardons

Joe Biden has commuted sentences for roughly 1,500 people and granted 39 pardons in the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history, the White House announced Thursday.

The commuted sentences were for people released from prison and placed on home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic who had “successfully reintegrated into their families and communities,” according to the White House statement.

“America was built on the promise of possibility and second chances,” a separate statement attributed to Biden said. “As president, I have the great privilege of extending mercy to people who have demonstrated remorse and rehabilitation, restoring opportunity for Americans to participate in daily life and contribute to their communities, and taking steps to remove sentencing disparities for non-violent offenders, especially those convicted of drug offenses.”

The White House did not release the names of those receiving pardons and sentence commutations.

Biden has already issued more sentence commutations at this point in his presidency than any of his recent predecessors, according to the White House, and he’s apparently not finished yet.

“I will take more steps in the weeks ahead. My Administration will continue reviewing clemency petitions to advance equal justice under the law, promote public safety, support rehabilitation and reentry, and provide meaningful second chances,” he said.

Biden’s move Thursday eclipses the second largest single-day act of clemency: Barack Obama reportedly commuted 330 sentences just before leaving office in 2017.

The pardons come as Biden continues to ride out bipartisan criticism over his full and unconditional pardon of his son, Hunter, on Dec. of felony gun and tax charges. The shocking pardon covered all offenses Hunter “may have committed” between 2014 and 2024.

Hunter Biden was convicted of federal gun charges and federal tax evasion charges earlier this year. The gun and tax evasion charges came only after U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected the “sweetheart” plea deal between Delaware US attorney David Weiss and the defendant’s attorneys in July 2023. Noreika had said she was concerned about the language in the diversion agreement, which included “details about not prosecuting Biden for tax crimes in the future,” amid an ongoing investigation.

Biden claimed in his pardoning statement that Hunter was “singled out only because he is my son” and that there was an effort to “break Hunter” in order to “break me.”

Howzabout this: promise that Covid BS will never happen again, and encourage people to treat those ordered like a BLM response.

It’s his right to do this as President. I don’t like who he pardoned, but that’s the power given him. Biden’s last act as President should be to pardon the J6 hostages, the parents arrested by the FBI for voicing their concerns about censorship, the pro-life protesters and the nuns. That would be the straw that would break the deep-states back.

Trump should talk to Jill about it. I think she would be on board.

Criminals pouring in across the border isn’t enough for Pedo Joe. He wants all criminals roaming our streets raping and pillaging our country. May he burn in hell for his evil acts.

Pedo Joe should be charged for every crime committed by this criminals after their release. Politicians should have to pay for the consequences of their actions.

It’s his right to do as a legitimately elected president. To the extent the 2020 election was stole, the pardons and commutations are illegitimate.

Remember the old song Pardon Me Ray, about the Tennessee governor?

https://genius.com/The-gitch-your-own-band-pardon-me-ray-lyrics

Well now it is PARDON ME JOE!

Pardon me, Joe,
Are you the cat that signs the pardons?
Since you’re an old friend of mine
Just put your name on the line
(Put it on the line)

Double murder and rape
That’s all the jury put me in for
And I’m sure you’ll agree
They took advantage of me

Take a hundred thousand dollars, slip it under the door
Don’t mention any names and I won’t say what it’s for
Ain’t no use in cryin’
You’re not the one who’s dyin’
I gotta get my money’s worth for what I’m buyin’****

“It’s his right to do as a legitimately elected president.”

Can we move off of 2020? It happened, it’s over, it’s not going to change anything. On January 20th, it all goes away and we start anew. Trump’s DoJ can do whatever they want at that point, although there are a lot more pressing issues they will need to clean up.

Clemency for Shanlin Jin. In 2021 he was sentenced 8 years for child porn: over 47,000 images and videos of child porn, including videos of infant and toddler rape.

Thanks Joe

The Lord moves in mysterious ways... Had the 2020 Stolen Election not happened, President Trump would be ending his second term now, and a LARGE amount of the Deep State would be perfectly safe right now. The massive cuts to DC would not be on the table. Inflation would not have spiked, and therefore we would not be looking at attacking in the unconscionable federal spending and printing money. The 4 years of attacks on every right-leaning parent and J6-er and Trump associate would not have happened, and therefore the new reformers like Elon and Tulsi and RFK Jr etc would not be making the massive changes that we so desperately need. The Kamala-DNC office bombing would never have been set up (and I'm of the belief that THIS one will be a huge powder keg in 2025 or 2026 when the truth finally breaks).

The Left would have been perfectly safe today and going forward, instead of facing potential existential events that could and should now be coming. The MSM ratings might not have tanked either. Their corruption and theft machines would all be intact and humming along.

As always, the Left can not do anything but overreach.

If congress had the will to serve... they could tie those pardons up in charging joe with T ... the willful invasion and the murder of those who have died at the hands of invaders. the Constitution says it is T for the President to not protect the people.
charge him and stop all the $$ being given. I do believe it is to keep their mouths shut on all he did or took, to give the $$ to countries we have no ties to.

Presidential pardon power is said to be absolute.

I believe SCOTUS should get involved and consider if only specific and defined federal crimes are subject to presidential pardons, not anything and everything that may have been done or yet may be done over any length of time the president specifies.
