Let’s disperse the government agencies away from the gridlocked highways and overpriced real estate of the Washington, D.C., area to the economically depressed regions of the country they serve, recycling the federal budget back to the economy from which it came.

Well, Criswell Predicts, decades ago said the Capital would be moved to Wichita KS in the future. Of course the world was supposed to be destroyed by now by his predictions.

Dear Metro DC Landlord:

Unless 90% of the metro DC area’s rental units are covered by rental cap agreements under the Federal Metro DC Lower Rents Law, the federal government will relocate non-constitutional officer operations to areas elsewhere in the country. If the federal government moves most operations from the DC metro, your rental rates will likely have to be cut in half.

Please sign and date the attached rent cap agreement and return it to the DOGE by 06/01/2025.

Note: Companies in Metro NY might do something similar.

I’ve seen it in many many small towns in my lifetime. A small towns starts “developing” and everybody says how wonderful it is that new businesses and subdivisions are ‘invigorating’ the community and in 10 years all the trash starts heading to the nice new developments and the formerly nice small towns / suburbs become a suburban ghetto. All to make a few bucks and “for the tax revenue” - well now you don’t have enough tax money to pay for the new ghetto you created.

Bad idea. Low-cost red states would not benefit from an inflow of leftists jacking-up housing prices and importing socialism, DEI, and LGBT. Best to concentrate leftist degenerates in a few places.

We don’t want them here in Alaska. I have a neighbor who is a fed and has not gone to work but maybe 20 times since the start of Covid. Once DOGE was announced he suddenly has time to go to the office.

Wind down Section 8 vouchers within 90 miles of DC.

That would free up housing in metro DC.

My older brother worked for the VA after college. Then went to work for Fannie Mae on WI Ave. He lived for years in rental apartments in Falls Church, VA.

I also have a cousin that lived in Falls Church. He worked for a defense contractor. His wife was a lawyer for the IRS.

The interesting part about the Northern VA real estate market is that is has been almost recession proof. Even during the Great Recession northern VA never really hit the skids because the government didn’t lay off anyone. It continues to grow. Real estate prices continued to go up.

I grew up in the Albany, NY area.

About 20 years ago a governor promised to distribute state offices statewide.

I don’t know the result as I’ve lived in Florida for over 30 years.

The federal buildings don’t need to get sold off.

The GSA could rent excess space to federal contractors.

If they are relocated and not closed, they should be located in sad blue cities. In converted concrete warehouses.

“Be Careful! We don’t want a bunch of libtard bureaucrats infesting red areas! And these agencies are only going to grow, grow, grow.”

I wonder about the percentage of bureaucrats who would be willing to make the move. Maybe a significant portion would be replaced with red-staters:a win-win situation.

There's more-DC statehood. Crush the issue and give its residents the vote in Maryland where it belongs.

If you look at the history, the Federal City (District of Columbia) used to include Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia. Those Virginia portions of the Federal City were ceded back to Virginia around 1850 when Congress was debating ending slave auctions in the City.

Do the same with Maryland now. If DC residents want reps in congress they can have it. They'll have a member in the House of Representatives, and be represented by the Maryland senators. They'll also pay Maryland taxes and be subject to Maryland laws. I'll bet they don't want any of that.

and send the most useless agencies to Nome, Alaska where they can do the least harm to the nation ...

The Department of Agriculture ought to be located in farm country say Des Moines,IA. Ditto the Bureau of Land Management should be located in Wyoming. Let the bureaucrats live among the people they regulate.
