Blow Up Washington By moving federal agencies out of D.C., Donald Trump can put the government back in touch with the people it serves while spreading federal dollars more equally, to places that need them

Let’s disperse the government agencies away from the gridlocked highways and overpriced real estate of the Washington, D.C., area to the economically depressed regions of the country they serve, recycling the federal budget back to the economy from which it came.

It's good we post a lot here on the subject. It's low hanging fruit that could conceivably turn Virginia purple or pink. The author quotes the # of employees that could be dispersed and suggests resignations rather than relocations. Relocated areas could use the economic shot in the arm while cheaper housing would make family life more affordable. Employees just may buy into it.

Be Careful! We don’t want a bunch of libtard bureaucrats infesting red areas! And these agencies are only going to grow, grow, grow.

**each dollar spent in Enid, Oklahoma, instead of Bethesda, Maryland, benefits the local economy of Garfield County, Oklahoma. In a typical deep red congressional district an extra 40,000 government workers mean the Republican candidate wins the next election with 60% of the vote instead of 65%, while pumping millions of dollars into the local economy. Relocating government workers to swing districts or to swing states could have a much larger impact on elections.**

I say move the bigger ones to deep blue cities. Won’t matter. FBI to Boston/Chicago/NY anyone? Go where the crime is.

**They aren’t growing. They’re gonna be closed.**

Moving them is better AFTER downsizing. Makes them feel like they’re getting something out of it.

SSI to Hawaii. The big island is underdeveloped. Who wouldn’t want to live in paradise?

Rather than Mr. Smith goes to Washington, Washington goes to Mr. Smith.

His employees.

There’s more-DC statehood. Crush the issue and give it’s residents the vote in Maryland where it belongs. Whatever representation they have will be gone. We can’t count on the SCOTUS to keep it a district.

DC should become a zero income tax zone. They moan about taxation without representation, so solve the problem by becoming a tax-free (except property and sales tax) haven.

Overnight, DC would be a rich enclave. With the resultant demographic change DC would be well-governed (but still liberal) and crime-free.

No. Cut the hell out of gummit first, red states or counties don’t want the feds in their backyard either and want to keep that filth away. Especially since the ‘relocations’ will inevitably (partially) be tossed on our federal debt of $36 trillion while us taxpayers are saddled with the expense.

To be sure some agencies are cancerous and need to be shut down completely like the DoED and can’t imagine anyone on this board would want this garbage in their back yard. Yet perhaps a Homeland Security opened a local office somewhere near a border and you live by might be a completely different story.

In addition to part of an agency opening near you some guarantee needs to be made that it will not grow the bureaucracy like everything else the feds do.

Eliminate or reduce these departments but keep them in DC. However, pass an amendment so that any federal crimes committed in DC are to be tried in a state court chosen by lottery.

A bunch of feds need to go to jail and DC judges and juries are to corrupted.

Give American Samoa to Samoa. They’re in it for the Benjamins where Nancy Pelosi pays sub minimum wages for tuna workers.

Puerto Rican independence or statehood? Cut it off at the pass.

Cut Government in half like Milei in Argentina. We don’t need 90% of Government jobs when we have the internet and workflows!
