“He seems kinda unstable to form and maintain a functioning conspiracy at this point—imho.”

Good point there. I wonder if he read himself into radicalism or was influenced by someone? Wasn’t he chatting on the phone the day he shot the CEO?
As an aside its interesting that he and Crook both used bicycles in the commission of their crimes. Also curious that Mangione’s bike still hasn’t been found.

You’re likely right. Still a lot of sympathy there for the wackos.
Despite the relief of the Penny ruling, NYC still appears to have gone over the edge. Trump should stay as far away from there as he can IMHO. Its nothing but trouble.

Apparently, this dude decided that violence was the only answer to national-level problems. That’s going to resonate with a lot of people beyond the wacko left.
We’re in very dangerous territory here.
This is of a situation of dry vegetation drenched in gasoline awaiting a match - which has now happened. There is a pent up disgust with insurance, not just with healthcare, but the entire industry at large, which my attorney called "predatory" just the other day. Even people who work in that industry are disgusted with it. It's pretty well universal at this point, and there needs to be a pressure release to ease back any arbitrary escalations. There has to be legislative solutions crafted to reign in the sort of industry/regulatory capture the insurance industry has managed to pull off against the entire country. And do it soon.
In cruising around the internet, am already seeing plans in action to put money on Mangione's books while he is in jail, raise money for legal defense - not that he needs that sort of support considering who his family is, but it's making a number of people feel good that they're doing "something" to "fight back". There are efforts currently underway to hunt down, identify, dox and hound the people who identified and called in on him at the McDonalds in Altoona.
Speaking of which, is getting savaged across the world wide web -

To be perfectly clear:
I DO NOT support this Luigi character.
With the information currently available to me, I think he committed first degree murder. I do not see this as an act of “taking out the trash”. I would convict him.
I’m sure there are people who aren’t hardcore wacko leftists who disagree with me.
Again, we’re in very dangerous territory.

Agreeing. This incident has resonated beyond the wacko left, taken on a life of its own no matter how wrong or misguided it may be, but there it is. Emotions are high, been seeing it everywhere all over the internet. Maybe it'll burn out and subside given some time, or in worst case escalate back up with copycats.

Why isn’t he being charged with 1=st degree murder? It is quite obvious that he meticulously planned the whole thing out with forethought about where, how, and when as well as a get away plan.
