Nobody is remotely close to our dear sweet Rush. I haven’t found a replacement for him. Rush was one of a kind.
I bet the Rush babies helped win this last election for DJT.
There’s no replacement.
That's a curious custom, as "vanity" means hubris and braggadocio.
Last time I was in Sacramento, I made pilgrimage to Rio Linda.
Rush would be very happy today. Rush created MAGA and Trump led it. Both men could see the seams on a fastball.
I hope you enjoy him! He’s on five hours a day in Houston. I can only catch him for a half-hour on the drive home. My biggest fear is over-selling him! 🙂
Rush is irreplaceable. I didn’t realize how much so until he left us. There are those who know what conservative mantra to say, but they just don’t have Rush’s heart. He also had an insight that isn’t there in the others.
You’re way ahead of me in enjoying Michael Berry! He had a brother die within the year but I think he’ll be around for a long time! 🙂
You’re right about that! Rush was the pioneer, standard-setter, and best of the bunch. 🙂
AI will resurrect Rush. And you won’t know the difference.
” I feel guilty enjoying all the winning and Rush is not around to enjoy it too.”
I’ve had the same thoughts over the past month. Such a shame that Rush isn’t here to savor this sweetest GOP victory of our time (yes, sweeter than Reagan 1980, I dare say, due to all the witch hunts and general unfairness directed at Trump and his supporters).
I started listening to Rush one lazy Saturday afternoon Summer 1988. (Show was a rebroadcast, I believe, as I don’t think that Rush ever did new shows on Saturday). I immediately thought that he was the most entertaining guy I’d ever heard on radio. Listening to Rush helped me survive college and beyond. His voice changed when his hearing failed, and that was painful to witness, as he previously had a such a glorious voice. Yet intellectually, he was always the same old Rush, sharp and witty as ever ‘til the end. R.I.P.
Oh yeah, when I first started listening to Michael, Michael T. was just a little guy and they hadn’t even adopted Crockett yet. And I think he was only on in Houston then, but I know he was picked up in Portland, OR pretty early on and he used to do regular “Portlandia updates.”
Have you heard Shirley Q. Liquor? Shirley used to be on a lot more, but “she” still makes the occasional appearance. Fun stuff.
His insight wasn’t the half of the show’s entertainment value. It was great, riding along as he had “more fun than a human being should be allowed to have” for three hours a day.
I lived in Florida and was exhausted from working 12 hour days for years, so I finally quit. It was election season. Last thing I did was cast my vote for Bill Clinton.
Got in the car and drove back to Los Angeles. On that long trip across the country, the only radio station that consistently played everywhere was the one that had Rush on it. I listened hour after hour as I went through time changes.
By the time I got to California, I was a Republican and haven’t looked back. Rush literally changed my life.
You can listen to most any conservative radio host whenever you want if you use a podcasting app on your phone. I use the Castbox app for no particular reason, but there are a lot of choices.
"By the time I got to California, I was a Republican"
Absolutely!!!
🥲🥲🥲
Oh man. Me too.
