The hunt for the assassin who shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson dead in Midtown Manhattan has stretched into its second day.
Thompson, 50, was shot by a masked attacker at 6:45am on Wednesday morning outside the Hilton Hotel, and died later in hospital.
Follow to stay up to date with the NYPD's city-wide manhunt for the assassin after he fled on a bike and remains at large.

Yeah, this guy isn’t turning out to be as brilliant as first thought. Someone will recognize him from those new pictures.

One shot hit the victim in the calf... The FBI obviously has a very different definition of what “proficient” means than I do...
That was my thought. I don’t see anything about a major breakthrough.
If he was sane he would have gone straight to the airport and left to whatever third world country he is from.
He doesn’t seem like a professional to me.
A professional could have found a dozen ways to make it look like a mugging, a car jacking, etc. Everything he does screams “hit”. A real hitman would want it to look like a street crime or and accident.
He might have even found somewhere private to do it. And he wouldn’t use an exotic weapon. And he probably wouldn’t write on the shell casings.
In fact, I wonder if that is a scene in some movie or TV show that I haven’t seen?
This looks like someone acting like what they think a movie hitman would do. I think he will be identified, and caught if he is still in the country.

If that were the case there would already be a video of an arrest, a perp walk, a manifesto alluded to, and the guy’s dog would have been shot. The shooter is gone but that does not mean our many three letter agencies won’t parade out a virtual clone/patsy to make it appear they actually do what the taxpayers pay them to do.

Citi Bikes are tagged with RFID and GPS units. With this capability, Citi Bikes now knows exactly where each bike is located in the city.
Also ... you have to use a credit card. Even if a prepaid ... it shows where it was originally purchased...as well as any purchases made with it.
This should be an easy slam dunk ... they probably know exactly who the guy is/was.
From what the police have released, and this kind of vibes with the videos... Shooter fired 4 times... 3 spent casings and 1 that “failed to fire”...
First shot was from <20’. Subsequent shots after victim turned and/or was falling... Report info was torso shots and one in a calf...
Still unsure if 9mm or .380 ACP. Casings look about right for either... Definitely not a .22lr though.
In the picture showing his face he is wearing a medium colored jacket and and a dark backpack. In the video of the shooting he is wearing a dark jacket and a light backpack...
