That is a huge company. How is he walking around without bodyguards?

I wonder if this killler will ever be caught. The seems like something out of John Wick.

Also, wonder if the wife is involved somehow as she is the one who mentioned the “threats”.

a 2010 book on ‘why insurance companies don’t pay claims and what you can do about it’, called ‘Delay, Deny, Defend’.

The wife should be considered as a suspect, but the fact that she knew of "threats" isn't evidence. Even if nobody else knew, she would.

I’m thinking red herring.

Why?

https://www.healthcarefinancenews.com/news/unitedhealthcare-ceo-brian-thompson-fatally-shot-new-york

From the above...

“...Prior to this role, he served as CEO of UnitedHealthcare government programs including Medicare and Retirement and Community & State. Before leading government programs, Thompson served as CEO of UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement. “

And note that the info is found in the last paragraph of the article.

Walked alone and not wearing a vest.

And shot in the back.

Wasn’t Seth Rich shot in the back...?

I think it was obvious that this killing was a response to a loved one whose medical claim was denied, and they died as a result. For it has all the earmarks of a revenge killing, to me at least.

there’s a MILLION cameras in that area.

It takes TIME to get all of them, review them and then act.

No matter where he started...unless he walked to manhattan from new jersey...they will find him with his hoodie down or in a car.

I think some people think they’re invincible.

John Lennon had threats all the time.

He said he’d rather die than have bodyguards all around him all the time.

He got his wish.

As for health insurace, I am very lucky to have united ppo.

I have NEVER been denied.

Something to thank God for.

have a good one

“He was receiving threats so he walked alone to work? Yea I’m not buying it.”

My neighbor was making threats against me. He’d bought a gun and shown it to my other neighbors, saying he felt threatened and would “defend” himself. Florida’s castle doctrine was being discussed and the governor had just signed it. The paper said the law would allow people to stalk and kill because they felt threatened, and the law would let them get off. My lawyer mentioned that he’d find out that wasn’t true, but it would be too late for me.

I told this story to mention the reaction of the deputies responding to my neighbor’s constant harassing calls. They each made dismissive body motions and said, “People who threatened you never go through with it.”

I moved forty miles away and my former neighbor continued to follow me home and wait outside my new home...for about six months. Then he refocused his stalking on the man who had bought my home. I had consulted a police psychologist. The Nighbor had constantly upgraded and increased his stalking, and the psychologist said he would, eventually kill me. (I’d won two lawsuits he’d brought, bankrupted the HOA he ran and his level of frustration in the power game was getting was reaching a critical level.) Point again, despite what the psychologist said, the police responded with “treats are meaningless.” The victim here was probably told the same thing.

Indeed. Just saw that United has the highest claim denial rate in the industry.

That has been my impression from the start. Nothing else fits, but with that much money being thrown around, nothing is out of the question.

I once moved over a neighbor.

They were redneck druggie hicks, matter of fact about a year after we left he was sent to prison for 7 years for dealing (constantly cars at night would drive up to their trailer stay 10 min then leave ).

Anyway he stared ogling my then 11 year old and 6 year old daughter’s when the bus woukd drop them off. I thought well I can kill him and maybe go to prison for 30 years, or take my chances and likely get one of my daughters raped

’so I sold and moved…pity it had a fine lake on it.

My lawyer told me that the cops literally have to tell you that threats are not going to materialize because the law is only reactive*. As one deputy told me, well, when he kills you, we’ll arrest them.

Wise choice on the move.

* People criticize the FBI and various agencies for not answering threats with arrest after the threats materialize. This has happened in school related murders. But the point is, it’s almost impossible, or at least rare to get a conviction based on a threat. How many threats have you heard in your lifetime as opposed to them actually being carried out. The ratio is probably hundreds to one.

This sounds like what someone would do to try and distract the investigation and point the cops in the wrong direction.

It makes me think it was the wife even more.

Dateline will be telling this story by the end of 2025.

“the messages bear similarity to the title of a 2010 book on ‘why insurance companies don’t pay claims and what you can do about it’, called ‘Delay, Deny, Defend’. “

A expert was mentioning this this morning on CNN.
