Your garage door opener has a very small area to cover. Cruise ships are enormous and then there is the salt and moisture. The costs would be enormous.
Last November, I cruised on board the Ruby Princess. Every time you get off and on the boat you are checked out by the princess medallion. It’s an electronic disk worn on a lanyard, around your neck.
You can’t do anything on board without it. It opens your room, never needing a key or a card. It keeps your account information for drinks and food. It checks you onto the ship and off. We often joked about detecting anyone going overboard.
It’s true on the Princess Cruise line.
What cruise line and ship is this supposed to be ??
“Do cruise liners suddenly lurch in a leaning fashion?”
almost never ... except perhaps if they’re stupid enough to get caught in a hurricane, which basically almost never happens either ...
That is a good question. It makes sense that he might be there somewhere.
Could he have just gotten off at a port of call and not got back on board?
It's a tradition around here to not read the full story, but at least read the brief excerpt. But I'll edit it down for you a bit more:
" on a Princess Cruise ship ... the Ruby Princess "
The ‘we saved you all a bunch of money by not paying to put up those doggone rails’ cruise line.
The Astonishing Tales of Costanza?
Could he have just gotten off at a port of call and not got back on board?
Everyone goes by a scanner that checks you off the ship and when you board the ship. They know exactly who left the ship.
Actually a number of people suicide off cruise ships each year.
This really isn’t news.
