Trump Should Bring a Constitutional Gun to the Senate / Swamp Knife Fight

From the moment of Joe Biden’s coup d’état “victory” in 2020, Democrats, who had spent years telling everyone our elections were vulnerable to

Not long after the inauguration, adding insult to injury, Molly Ball wrote a long piece in TIME describing all of the maneuvers and manipulations Democrats had used to steal the election and their preparations for “protests”—read violence—if their coup didn’t succeed. But it did, and they were gloating about it.

Since that time, we’ve all come to see exactly what happened, much of it described in Mollie Hemingway’s bible on the coup: Rigged. We’ve read the Twitter files, we listened to Zuckerberg on Rogan, and watched Mike Benz on Tucker, not to mention the yeoman’s work done by Jeff Fulgman, who investigated the blatant fraud in Georgia

What’s more, the outgoing leader, the anti-Trump Mitch McConnell, has just announced he’ll be chairing the powerful Rules Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. At the same time, on the Senate Appropriations Committee, the single most powerful chairmanship in the Senate will be occupied by the virulently anti-Trump RINO, Susan Collins of Maine. None of that bodes well for the MAGA agenda.

Trump, however, doesn’t have to acquiesce to RINOs derailing his agenda. Why? Because (in addition to not having a re-election to eat away at his time) he has a not-so-secret weapon: JD Vance. Trump should tell Vance that his sole job for the next four years is to exercise his constitutional role as President of the Senate and preside over the body, something vice presidents regularly did until the 1950s. Article I, Section 3, Clause 4 of the Constitution says: “The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.”

An interesting IDEA. Take the Turtle to the wood shed too.

The Senators elect a President Pro Tempore...Vance has better things to do...

And no voice...He'd be like a kid with a Dunce Cap in the corner.

I am interested to see if you have a Constitutional/historical critique on this idea.

I don’t think that even the past can serve as a guide for how to deal with a Senate full of traitorous snakes.

Amendment to the Constitution has not served us. There are no “Checks and Balances” functioning, anymore, between the branches of Federal Government. Women are over represented in government, in some cases using biological males.

I, for one, would never dream of underestimating the resourceful Trump.

Trump’s biggest weapon is the ability to dismantle any agency or regulation not passed by congress.

I said this exact same thing several weeks ago, only to be “taken to the woodshed” by a number of people on this site.
The senate is the VP’s chamber to run as he sees fit.
Majority Leader is a made up title with power appointed by the senate itself, and is NOT based upon any constitutional authority.
The VP can and should simply strip this person of power and move on.
Put the senate in recess so that recess appointments can be made (remember the turtle did not put the senate into recess for 4 years so that President Trump could not make recess appointments. Pence was a traitor to the people.)
The VP can and should pull bills out of committee and call for a vote.

A lot of agencies will resist to protect their jobs. The way to get rid of these agencies is via investigations by inspector generals. Looking for fraud waste and abuse and holding the individuals legally responsible.

There is nothing either in the Constitution nor in US Senate history that precludes him from doing so. Up until 1850, MANY senators brought firearms onto the floor.

I actually thought you meant Trump should bring a real gun to the floor, which I would support.

As for Vance, absolutely correct. The veep has just ignored the real powers of the office as he usually is trying to develop an executive resume.

I believe that Mr. Vance is just the guy to restore things.
I would haul whoever the rino of the month is into the oval and explain it to them this way...
Play ball or be marginalized.
Period.
End of discussion.
VP Vance has constitutional authority.
The made up position of “majority leader” has none.

Back in the days of sailing ships, pirates would often fly the flag of legitimate countries. As soon as they were within combat range of an unsuspecting merchant ship they would run up the Jolly Rodgers and attack.
I have long stated RINOs are worse than DemocRats. Right now the unholy trinity of McConnell, Cornyn and Thune and their protégés abd lesser luminaries like Ernst, Collins and Mikulski control the Senate and they are more virulent than DemocRats. Trump has to fight them too. They are as much swamp creatures as Schiff, Schumer and Pelosi and prepared to defend their dens WITH the DemocRats
