The Florida woman convicted of zipping her boyfriend in a suitcase and leaving him to suffocate to death while trapped inside has been sentenced to life in prison.
Sarah Boone, 47, learned her fate in an Orlando courtroom on Monday, Dec. 2, more than a month after she was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Jorge Torres, Jr., 42.

Just curious it terms of the sentence. Life seems a little harsh for someone offered 15 years but is life really life or is 15 years really 15 years in Florida.I have a problem with these types of plea deals. I think they make a mockery of our right to a trial by jury by introducing an element of "rolling the dice for your life" to it.
We have a right to a trial by jury. "We'll offer you a slap on the wrist or you can take it to a jury and we'll give you life behind bars if you lose" isn't really justice.
