No, I think Biden desperately wanted to become President, which is the pinnacle of power, to prove that he was smarter than he was perceived to be by his peers. In fact, he was as stupid or more as he had always been believed to be all along.

But for Democrat supporters, he was good old loveable Uncle Joe.

He might have even believed that he actually did win the 2020 election legitimately.

The last thing on his mind was believing that his son would be held accountable for his crimes, because he was the Big Guy who has had his son's back, while the FBI & intelligence agencies had his back along with the presstitutes.

When he made the claim that he would not pardon his son, he meant it, because it never occurred to him that he would not remain as the President.

In his mind Trump had been dispatched & would rot in jail for the remainder of his life.
