Malcolm Smith, the motorsports legend and founder of Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Riverside, has died at the age of 83.
Smith died Tuesday at his Riverside home of complications from Parkinson’s disease, according to his company’s Facebook page.

I remember Malcolm from my younger days as a motorcycle entusiast. The guy could do about anything on a bike! And I heard he was a friendly, nice dude as well. So sorry to hear about his death. He was certainly one of the great personalities in the business. How often I wished I could ride half as good as he did.

My buddy lived on the boundary of the local gravel pit. He had a used ‘67 Bultaco. I think he still has some of the engine parts for it in coffee cans somewhere in his garage.
