I think the District of Columbia should be at the top of the list. Just look at what it did to Mitch McConnell! Not to mention the current VP! I bet 90% or better of elected representatives have a bottle in their bottom desk drawer.

Having seen a few Belgians ‘at work’, I’d heartily agree.
Never saw anyone drink that much high ABV beer and be so seemingly sober. Incredible waste of money.

Maybe not because beer has calories, so if you drink beer, you consume less of other things. If the cost of beer per calories is less than other foods, drinking beer will make you save money on food.
I’ve been to many Brussels Beer Festivals over the years. They shut down the entire Grande Place courtyard and have over 500 Belgian beers for three days.
Joe, the owner of Delerium Cafe’ famous for the Delerium Tremens pink elephant beer opened Floris Cafe across the street with over 150 different types of absinthe.
If you like Lambics, my favorite is an old brewery in Brussels, LA Cantillion. It’s not sweet like the ones you get in USA.
I used to know all the brewers in Belgium as the Board Chairman of InBev invited me as his personal guest to a week long Brewing Symposium at the University of Leuvin in Belgium. I drank with the brew masters of the Trappist Monasteries every evening. Westmalle Triple is my favorite.
I don’t brew anymore, but enjoy a good beer, or two, or three. 🍻
From 1978 to 2016, I drank about 24 beers a week. Sometimes 3-4 cases. I guess I’ll blame it on my Irish/Scots heritage.
I witnessed this at a bar in Austin 20 years ago, and it was a waste of money :D
I’m shocked that the UK, Finland and Ukraine aren’t on that list.
